Imagine that following ABBA's demise Frida and Agnetha had got together as a duo. It's not a particularly unlikely counterfactual and would have been hugely successful. The Bee Gees would have written mega hits for them and Pete Waterman wouldn't have got a look in. But what would they have called their act? Declaration of interest: I have got a pretty nifty suggestion myself that I will happily divulge, just as soon as someone takes an interest in this or any other of my quirky but lonely threads  |

I was thinking along the lines of initials too: Sweet FA Genius!! I think they'd have needed to make sense of that name with a pretty sassy album. All Chrissie Hynde swearing or maybe even Fascinating Aida-type sharp comedy. I'm only surprised that nobody has thought to write a scandal-filled book about Agnetha and Frida with that title. |

I was thinking along the lines of initials too: Sweet FA Genius!! I think they'd have needed to make sense of that name with a pretty sassy album... Yes, the girls have always somehow managed to simultaneously project hotness and innocence. I could imagine them enjoying using the name while at the same time successfully professing ignorance regarding any double meaning. Maybe we could think up similarly ambiguous titles or themes for that sassy album. As we have discussed before, Honey, Honey was filthy, but one tends to look at their shining faces while delivering it and just about give them the benefit of the doubt. |

Just for continuity's sake, I'd have advised them to keep it simple and go with 'AA' - and call their debut album 'One for the Road' which would have neatly reflected the deliberate ambiguity of that name.
Or maybe 'Two for the Price of One'.

Or they could have lengthened that slightly to, for obvious reasons, 'A-hA'. If some other Scandinavian act didn't beat them to it.

I'd take a step further with the choice of production; don't laugh, I think Agnetha-Frid would have Stock Aitken Waterman in their supposed later period while in their early period they could have Trevor Horn or Jeff Lynne produce it... |

Meanwhile in alternative history; if the girls hired permanent instrumentalists (possibly deriving from ABBA's session musicians or others that have their own success) like Per Lindvall, Lasse Wellander, and someone who plays a bit like Rutger, to their "band", then "FAB" could work! I don't like "Sweet FA": If Frida and Agnetha had "Sweet FA" as their ensemble name, nobody would take them very seriously, in my opinion. I dislike the backstory of how "Sweet FA" came to be, especially, (obviously it's a brutal you know what case of a young girl, holy sh**, I'm terrified as h***!), but it's my opinion, I guess. I think it's the backstory that bothers me, but the phrase at first seems harmless, which is a sick twist... ...Or they could call themselves "The AA Batteries" (of course it's pronounced "double A" in the "AA")... both the girls were definitely charged for expending energy through their vocals. |
