I know most of the target audience may not be familiar with this kind of music, but has anyone listened to avant garde music? "We're Only In For The Money" and "Trout Mask Replica" are my two favourite albums currently. Lennon and Ono's early materials [Wedding Album] and The Velvet Underground and Nico isn't bad either.
I once read that Robert Christgau once dissed the band King Crimson and praised Captain Beefheart as a kind of music that makes you feel "s****er" with a B+, so I think these albums are kinda funny yet intriguing for me (and the story behind the album too: call me a sadist but it seem rather comedic but tragic at the same time) – well, I actually listened to the album before I read Christgau's review.
I won't be surprised if there are some ABBA fans with a similar taste like me – I've always wondered if a few of ABBA fans have some weird taste in music like this. After all, aside from my love of the pop band, I have an intriguing favorable approach to something peculiar and relatively new [as in, never before heard, since other pop music are suppressing the postmodernism music by record charts] to the listeners :-)
