(Meme is pronounced like the French pronunciation of 'mime')
*As in memes that use any of the ABBA members' pictures and ABBA references, not speaking strictly.
Since most of the people on this site are pretty much the fans from the 1970s-1980s predominately, and memes are actually targeted at millennials and whoever may succeed (thus outrageously popular), I'll try to spice this site up a little further with ABBA memes. I don't blame them if they don't get the concept of ABBA memes... we've been there.
Born out of the postmodernism movement, meme is a new kind of expression that some contemporary people use today ever since I saw some memes rise in the ABBA fan community in Instagram. Either a meme comes with photoshopped contents or superimposed funny text, or just plain funny assortments that are countless. Let's play clean here, shall we?
Here are those memes that I've done, to get this thing started... excuse the crass contents I'm creating! I hope I don't make you cringe with this, and if I didn't, well, you made my day.
Alex, (The Rubber Ball Man ) if you have Instagram, there are several accounts on the site that make ABBA memes, so far, but I prefer the one with the underscore (Abba_Memes).
The bilingual ABBA meme account (the one without the underscore) isn't what I would consider "dank" enough to be meme quality; I understand it's trying to be original, but it doesn't have a punchline... but that's not all, actually. Some are good and some are a miss, so obla-di, obla-da life goes on!
I actually prefer memes that can be understood by people who don't know ABBA as well as we do, memes that have nothing to do with ABBA content-wise. So I'd take the "food"-meme over the "retirement"-meme any time
The Agnetha + "The Most Interesting Woman in the World" meme image worked on mobile (Tapatalk) for a while, but the meme doesn't display properly on desktop quite well, leaving quite a blank space in the post.
Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput!
"Anni-Frid Lyngstad is ABBA. She is the band. We're her messengers. She is all of it. Period. We're nothing. She's everything."
No worries, I posted the meme on Instagram, just some ten hours ago. I was referring to Tapatalk (from Apple App Store and Google Play), which had nice results for the first time when I saw Fafner 's meme. I didn't know mobile phone browsers had the same defect as desktop browsers did, in this particular case, until now. You should be able to see the embed preview. All aside the bug, that meme about "I don't always show my bum" is one of the funny ABBA inside jokes I've heard, though. 😆 :-)
