Yes, Roxy, you’re right. It’s how these journalists work, sadly enough, thriving on conflicts. Make them up as they please. Silly buggers.
But what a great show by Frida! Actually, I’m neither a bottoms man, nor of any specific body parts. I like that Frida was always amazingly fit, but still naturally graceful. In some concert pics, she looks more like an Olympic swimmer right out of the water than a pop goddess on stage. Like an art nouveau model of the late twenties. Another happy period, which she would have ruled with ease, I’d say.

Yes, journalists popped the question ever so often, I think. Must have felt tiresome. Like this one:
Didn’t you get upset when all the papers always wrote that Agnetha had the sexiest bottom in the world?
-I got very upset. I wanted to have a bottom that was at least as sexy as Agnetha’s, Frida laughs.
Don't believe Frida had anything to worry about actually.

ABBA in full uniform. Not being kings and queens yet - they look more like generals, I'd say. Very good looking generals.

Such sweet pics, dizzimoe. Those ABBA members really made a lot of babies in the midst of all the hard work. The boys had eight kids between them, I think, and the girls had four kids. Now, that's quite an accomplishment, I'd say. Very admirable.

I applaud your bravery, Martin. LOL - reminds me of an answer from Frida to a journalist (from memory): "Women have tits and bottoms, you know, you better get used to it."

Thanks john. Now I can better understand how she could be swinging in chandeliers in high-heels at the time.

Agnetha's first number one hit in Sweden as a singer/songwriter for Cupol (Jag Var Så Kär/I Was So In Love) is from 1967 when she had just turned 17.
Agnetha recorded her first single "Följ Med Mig" / b-side "Jag Var Så Kär" on Monday, October 16th 1967, and she was 17 - and half a year ... Yes, john, but didn't she write it soon after she fell out with her boyfriend?

I like the idea. Would it have to be the spitfire or any car? Or how about both ladies or all members in cars to widen it? So do I, but I've not seen more pics of the spitfire than the three already posted here, widening it betters the 'mileage': How about ... on any four wheels. Could start off with the "Tiger" video where Agnetha drives more like a Swedish mommy than a bad hoodlum. Then a nice pit stop with an ABBA truck. I think there's a pic with her coming out of one of the green ones, but couldn't find it.

Between 1964-66 Gunnar Sandevärns band med Frida was the most popular danceband around Eskildstuna. Frida was also Vocalist of the Year 1964 in Sweden.

An absolutely wonderful compilation of pics of Frida by Sinny1992 (Andrea) - some rare ones, all beautiful - so I thought I'd place it here instead of on the Frida video thread. Could do both, I suppose, because this is a really great cover of "Sounds of Silence" in Swedish, "En Ton Av Tystnad", by Frida from 71. Her Swedish is just lovely - so crisp and sweet.

Having lots of time on your hands, it seems, doing documentaries half a century ago. Very nice. Agnetha's coat is just right, I'd say.

It's a good idea to have a talk about this because it can involve strong feelings.
If you take a picture with any kind of camera, the picture is yours and you may mark it. When copied, it's bad form to remove the mark, I'd say.
However, in many cases it's more complicated than that. For the "Girls Only" thread, I copied my favourite photograph of the girls in the best resolution I could find. The picture was marked: "Original scan by Ann Landor, digitally retouched by Andy B, 04/2002."
So Andy, who is really good at this, marked it. I find it odd to take credit for the work when you do not credit the photographer, which is almost always the case. Don't take credit if you don't give credit, I'd say.
With videos, screencaps, recontextualization, mash-ups, memes and other varietals of simulacra our sense of originality and authenticity becomes even more challenged. The guys behind the cameras rarely get any credits, so I was pleased that 2Shaymcn had kept them in at the end of his great upload of the Wembley 79 show to YouTube.
Here you can see that the guys who tried to keep up with the ABBA girls that night were Peter Fisher, Jack Churchill, Michael Kinmanson, Lars Bermann, Bengt Lindström and Leif Benjour - and for that they surely deserve credit.

Very nice Poul, I can only imagine how nerve racking it had to be switching to the other side of the road and having a performance at the same time. Yes, it's a good one hour drive from Eskildstuna to Stockholm. Never seen Frida drive herself, though.
EDIT: Thanks to a friendly nod, I have now seen Frida drive (on the right side). It's better than the usual pic of some girl getting out of the back seat of a car, I'd say.

Nice pics, dizzymoe. Here's mommy just after she hit the frontpage - presented as mother-of-two from Eskildstuna. It says Frida helped much in relieving all the right-driving angst among the Swedes that night. Very believable, I'd say, that listening to Frida is good therapy.

Thanks, dizzymoe. Ah, the joy of watching ABBA videos in the evening. So many HD ABBA fans do a fantastic job on YouTube. The scene is amazing, too. One old, blurred ABBA video with lousy sound has been seen by millions of people and commented by hundreds.
Men are said not to share feelings very well. Here they go nuts. The crudest chaps (literally from everywhere) turn into poets when commenting on the girls. Sure, some drunks cross the line sometimes, but MrJerrasimos, just last month, is typical (commenting on SOS in US TV):
"Every time I see those women, I'm shivering from desire and I feel completely lost in their sea of feminine beauty and attraction... They are the angels of my life."
What can you say but thanks for sharing, MrJerrasimos.

Lol. Poul, whatever magic you have at capturing screencaps, keep it up. I'm curious how you do it. The magic is all on the part of the girls, I’d say, and being mad about the girls. They just blast through lenses.
The ABBA videos contain so many good pics that much depend on what you’re looking for. When you know, it’s simple: Print screen, insert and save in Paint, open in Picasa or another free photo program and adjust light, contrast and colour, crop perhaps, and voila – one nice pic of the girls. As you said, they are very photogenic.

Thanks for sparing me the time, chelseacharger. I've been to those mountains and didn't like it much. Apart from a couple of bright mornings with the sun shining on the moutainsides, it was really cold and primitive. No hot running water, I can tell you that. So the princess, our princess, impresses by sporting a nice set of gold earrings in the wilderness. Frida, stylish as ever.

The baby certainly places it in time for folks in the know. Does this one from 73 even make the top ten list of earlies, do you think?
It probably does. I looked for photos from the Festfolk era and I couldn't find any of just the two ladies. If a photo exists of the two of them at that singing contest in the late 1960's it would be awesome but I have never seen one. I did the same (thanks for the directions!) and came up with these photos or stills, if you like, which is the same to me - the line softens - from 1972 or earlier.
