I agree with Joseph I'm not a fan of Christmas songs, mostly because they're always snow songs which is silly when it's the middle of summer here in Australia. we do have our own version of Jingle bells called "Aussie Jingle Bells".

I haven't bought "Voyage" yet but I heard some of the songs on you tube, I think I'm more drawn to the upbeat songs but once I get my copy I'll be able to listen a few times, I couldn't work out which one was singing on the leads, because their voices have changed a little, but they still blend well together like they used to. They did a very good job with the songs, well done ABBA.

They have a song called "Keep an eye on Dan" is the song about Lockdown Dan,"Our state premier Daniel Andrews" who has wrecked Victoria.
Sorry for bringing politics into it I just thought the name of the song was a coincidence with what's happening here.

He listed some of my favourite songs but I'm not to worried, if we can't talk about which songs we like and don't like there won't be much to say sadly this forum doesn't have much activity. we need a break from Cancel Culture which is ruining this world.

I remember when Fernando was Number 1 in 1976 we had a music show called Countdown in Australia and at the end of the show when they had the top 10 as soon as Fernando was announced as the number 1 there were kids in the studio who booed, one week they decided to play a different song at the end of the show and the switchboard went into meltdown, Fans were'nt happy about Fernando not being played. I think they decided if a song was number 1 on the charts more than 3 weeks they would play an up and coming song.

I think as new groups like Duran Duran and culture club were becoming popular Teenagers were into them more. Which is natural that they would like new singers. Bjorn growing that beard wouldn't have helped either, the first time I saw that I was shocked.

It's a horrible thought, I've lost too many family members so I don't think I could take much more if any of the Abba members left us.

I will always like ABBA I'm not as obsessed as I was when I was a child, I drove everyone mad because I talked about them all the time, even one of my school reports had "I hope her obsession with abba lessons a bit next year" LOL. I think after they broke up I moved on to other things. I was so happy when Muriel's wedding came out as Abba were in the spotlight again.

I post every now and again, I think there probably isn't much to post about unless someone says something that you like to comment about. It would have been different if these forums were around when ABBA were active.

I think they have a good reputation, they never swore or carried on like so many other celebrities, even when in interviews people asked them questions that was personal they handled it with dignity and didn't get angry.
I saw an Interview on you tube Agnetha was asked who raided the mini bar in the hotel rooms she just laughed but wouldn't tell. I like how they were respectful to each other even after all the issues they had.

I always cringe in that part of ABBA the movie when that guy said they were clean cut it makes them sound like the osmonds. I think it was good they liked Champagne and wine, don't know if it was true they had Champagne with their breakfast but it's fun to think they did.

Sad to hear Roxette were very popular here in Australia in the late 80's and early 90's. Cancer is a horrible disease and the treatments for it is just as bad.

Edmund I like "The Winner takes it all" I have my favourite ABBA songs and some least favourites my favourites are "Rock Me' because it was one of the first songs I heard, and I like "Thank you for the music" "Does your Mother know" "SOS" they do change sometimes. I have Depression which is one reason for me to come on this forum to be with other ABBA fans all over the world, and to forget about things I'm going through at the moment.

I've always thought The Beatles were overrated, I don't mind their solo songs though, John lennon had some good songs like "Imagine" and "So this is Christmas" There's been Beatles fans who have a go at ABBA so that makes the hackles rise, yes we all have different tastes but it does make you angry when there are some that make rude comments about your favourite groups.

I think Agnetha had the worst when it came to the media they wouldn't leave her alone making up stories about her being a recluse when all she wanted was a quiet life with her family. No wonder she didn't want to talk to them. Then the stories about her and Frida.
Both ladies always supported each other during the ABBA years and on the Sunday night program when Agnetha was interviewed when her CD was released she talked fondly of Frida.

I remember buying GGG before I even heard the song, I just walked into the record shop and saw the single on display. It was a pleasant surprise when I got home to play it. Was it really 40 years ago, time goes by so quickly I was 16 years old in 1979 my last year of school.
