Not sure I’ve ever heard her say her surname before! That was quite sweet.

There's a "listening event" on 12th Oct at Dolby Atmos Theatre (never heard of it), in Soho London. You can win tickets for this event on her website but I can't see any link for the competition agnethaofficial.com/

I heard the song played on Vernon Kay’s show yesterday. He followed it up with a full promotion for the album - what it was, when it was out etc. I don’t listen to the radio that much but I’m assuming this is the standard requirement from Radio 2 as arranged with BMG.
Hopefully no one expected the song to chart. I did check just in case but it was an extremely long shot/impossibility. The purpose of this song’s release was to generate interest in the album and the “Record of the Week” playlisting by Radio 2 has hopefully built up some pre-orders.
Had it been a new album, my expectations would be higher but as it’s apparently her original vocals other than on this one new song, it’s unlikely to do particularly well. Even if it makes the top 10, which is possible, it could fall very heavily in its second week.

I will be very interesting what they come up with. I don't expected anything chart wise. Maybe Sweden. It's not a new album and her promotion is very limited.

^Agreed. It's basically a deluxe edition with just one new, unimpressive song. I am not expecting it to make the charts at all.

Apparently, I Should Have Followed You Home is released this Friday (the revamped version). There is a snippet of it on Agnetha's socials for those intrigued. I reserve judgement until I hear the full track suffice to say I'd hoped they'd edited Gary Barlow out but no such luck. I'm only half-joking as I do like the original track, especially the clubbed-up, dancey version.

I cant say the snippet did anything for me! I’m debating with myself whether to cancel my order! And before any uber fan starts, and calls us “sour” again, I’ve not seen anything positive elsewhere. Take a look at what they’re saying on PopJustice about this clip.

There is positive feedback elsewhere but from what I can gather, not nearly as much as the negative. It's only a brief snippet and just the one song so we'll see. I will say that I'm not a fan of what they've done to Barlow's voice- it sounds tinny! Like an AI version of his voice. Strange. I honestly don't know what to think. I don't want to be like an old fuddy-duddy and whinge on about how much I hate autotune but I must be honest and say it- as an effect, I absolutely hate it. I couldn't give two hoots whether it's trendy or not (it's not; it's been around for ages), it offends my ears, especially when it's overused. I pray it's not all over A+.

It's the music of today. For many older abba fans this step will be too big. I’m afraid your ageist comment doesn’t carry weight. On PopJustice I went into profiles of those making comments and it was showing ages as 27 and 30 (on the ones that included their ages). The problem with trying to be up-to-date is that it doesn’t stay that way for too long. Soon enough, it will sound horribly dated and people will tend to revert to the original album. Aside from the one new song, the revised album will soon be forgotten about. Agnetha deserves better than this, if it’s to be her final solo project.

People who have facelifts, in a desperate attempt to look young, don't look young. Thry look like people who have had facelifts - and weird.
This is the musical equivalent of that.

Who cares about pop justice? Some facelifts look great. It just depends on how it's done and by who!

Wasn't it Benny who said "we're not trying to compete with Drake"!? They are ABBA after all, a group from the 70's/early 80's - and I would say 95% of the reviews of Voyage that I saw were glad they sounded like ABBA, not modern sounding, manipulated versions. I do not like some artists these days - quite a few of them, especially female artists, all seem to sound the same! and don't get me started on their diction!

I can understand an artist, songwriter, or arranger having a fresh look at a song, giving it a 'facelift' or at least new clothes: Neil Sedaka (Breaking Up Is Hard To Do); Carole King (Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow) spring to mind - two early 60s, I think, pop classics that were done slower than the originals. I love what George Martin, the Beatles' producer, did to George Harrison's While My Guitar Gently Weeps demo, adding strings, for example; and I like this version as much as the original album track.
I just wonder if A+ will be a hodgepodge of 'today', musically - and, as Alan suggests, soon to be forgotten.
I would have much preferred an an album of new songs, suited to her voice now, from Agnetha.

I heard the latest Kylie single the other day. It didn't sound like Kylie. It could have been anyone.
Yes, you can do vocal trickery but if you haven't got a good and distinctive voice, and there's no melody to a song, what is the point?
If people want to make ageist comments that's up to them. But please don't "clarify" or "apologise" is you keep making ageist commwnts.

I like the fact the artwork is simple but a picture of Agnetha would have been nice. Couldn't care less about Gary Barlow.
As vocal effects go, I'm fine with them used sparingly but I hate that effect they've used on Gary Barlow's voice. I've read a few more opinions from fans and they are quite harsh, one even going so far as to call it 'horrendous' and the nail in Agnetha's career which I think is rather harsh, especially considering no one's heard the whole bloody album yet. There ARE positive comments though. And for the life of me I can't find any comments, negative or otherwise, on this popjustice forum.

thank you Joseph for the link. I have to say I love it. it brings to mind Agnetha's singing of Thank you for the music (doris day version).
I guess Gary Barlow re-recorded his vocals but Agnetha didnt? He just played around with Agnetha's voice which is why she expressed amazement with how Gary was able to do it?

Glad to say that I like this far more than what I regard as the poor WDWGFH. The arrangement for this one, on first hearing, reminds me a bit of Sade, and nothing wrong with that. But were some of us naive with comments about how young Agnetha's vocals sounded back in 2013?
Hopefully, A+ will turn out to be a proper/integral/worthwhile reimagining of the tracks instead of what WDWGFH suggested to me: an unfocussed mish-mash of today's musical styles, to be 'up-to-date', as if that's the main thing.

Having listened to this new mix of ISHFYH a few times with an open mind I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. I quite like it, it works. The chilled-out, bossa nova feel really works. I'll never be keen on over zealous use of autotune but the music here, the jazzy vibe...I'm down for that.
I have had a good look around social media and it's clearly NOT true that the song is universally disliked with no positive feedback whatsoever, despite what anyone says here (although it definitely divides opinion). Many appear to really dislike it, calling it horrible/horrendous and so on which I find really over the top. If I didn't know any better I'd swear they were trolls. Anyway, I'll be honest and say that in my heart I'd have liked a My Colouring Book Part 2 but I'm not so sour that I'm going to totally rip apart this venture from Agnetha. I mean, the fact she's even done this is remarkable. I hope she has the last hurrah.
