Tinneke I noticed the way you seems to dislike Frida, and the way you talk makes me think that you are the same person as m.menneke (youtube), raindeer (instagram), dolf (german forum). I hope you are not, m.menneke is the most infamous "sweat obsessed" Agnetha fan and Frida "hater" on the internet.

I am not of of these and I certainly don't dislike her. Just speaking my mind and reacting to the critical reactions towards Agnetha

Sorry for mistaken you for m.menneke, but I dont see any criticism here to Agnetha regarding this thread.

On her albums (bland, autotune .....) not on her as a person but let's move on in positivity and look foforward to her new project

[criticism] On her albums (bland, autotune .....) Constructive criticism is nothing wrong. It's very natural that Agnetha's albums are not to everybody's taste. Voyage received critical reactions from some fans too. Unless it's completely unfair or rude, everybody is entitled to his or her opinion.

Don't think so. Agnetha likes new challenges. She did a cover album before.

I can definitely imagine that song in her voice. It's very Agnetha in terms of melody, feel and lyrics.

Yes, new songs would be the preferred option for me too.

I'd prefer something new too but if it really was an album with covers from musicals, what songs would you wish for or think would be suitable for Agnetha? You Must Love Me would indeed be a perfect choice. I can almost hear it in my mind. Don't Cry For Me Argentina would fit her too. Could We Start Again Please from Jesus Christ Superstar strikes me as a natural candidate, as she already did the other two. I Know Him So Well would be great of course and maybe Someone Else's Story too. Ett Herrans Underverk as another potential duet with Frida? (call me hopeless) I was thinking about Les Mis but both the big numbers that would be most appealing seem a little too chalenging vocally, but maybe I'm underestimating Agnetha. Any ideas?

I'd like the album to include what I'll be able to regard as a really good new original song - or, better, more than one song - written by Agnetha; and hopefully including, prominently, her piano playing - if she has kept up her playing or wants to brush it up for what might be her last solo album. That would be an additional lovely bonus. If this album has been in gestation for some time, perhaps these considerations have occurred to Agnetha.
And some inspired, varied, imaginative, sparkling arrangements! We all know how much they can enhance our appreciation of tracks. So I hope the album avoids a ballady sameness about it.
And I'd like to think this new Agnetha album might inspire Frida to do one last new album of her own. But I fear, as Frida might, that what attention she got would be largely disgustingly negative.

No doubt I'll be happy with whatever Agnetha releases but of course I wouldn't say no to a duet with Frida but I won't cry if it doesn't happen. After all, they've not long recorded together on the Voyage album. Not quite the same, I know. With any duet between them I'd ideally like to have them sing TO each other, if that makes any sense. I can imagine what I'd like to hear in my head but find it very difficult to express in words. I liked 'A', and still do, but what I want (really, really want) is a more raw Agnetha...sparse, vulnerable, less poppy. Haunting, elegiac songs that move you, touch you. I know Agnetha has it in her! As does Frida, without a doubt! It's just a question of if she WANTS to. Her voice on Voyage is clearly still intact so I'd be more than happy to hear more from Frida. Who knows? She may surprise us yet.
But anyway, Bravo Agnetha! She's one brave gal after all and clearly meant it when she said she "hasn't closed any doors". Duets...covers...I'll be happy with either. It may be neither. I love dance anthems so if she recorded an album of club bangers I'd be ecstatic. She's not just the so-called Queen of heartbreak- her voice lends itself perfectly to a disco beat lol (any 'disco' haters can get in the bin). I'm keeping an open mind. You Must Love Me from Evita is being suggested but You'll See (also by Madonna) could be great. Agnetha's voice is infinitely more expressive so that could interesting.
Either way, what a treat! We're being spoiled.

I meant a lot of the media and the ramifications of that. But perhaps that has changed from how it was with the Agnetha vs Frida nonsense back in the day. Hope so.

I meant a lot of the media and the ramifications of that. But perhaps that has changed from how it was with the Agnetha vs Frida nonsense back in the day. Hope so. Generally speaking, there's a lot of ageist nonsense woven into the media reviews/"analyses" of music by older artists. It seems to have died down a little in more recent years, as "heritage" acts continue to release satisfying new material. What remains of it is horribly sexist, though. Women's looks are pulled asunder as if they somehow owe an audience prettiness or sexiness. They're artists. Nobody who rates the music on the looks of the performers can call themselves a music fan. Maybe I missed it, but I was glad to see all of that was missing from the reception for Voyage. Frida and Agnetha were rapturously welcomed and the affection carried through to the music forums, where die-hards and casual fans alike bestowed goddess titles on them. Sadly, the worst of all that has always come from a sad coterie of so-called "fans" - utter barmcakes who need a solid half hour on a bouncy castle and/or a stern talking-to. For the most part, these are middle-aged men who REALLY ought to know better. They're absolutely pathetic; complete laughing stocks. I think - hope - that Agnetha and Frida (should she be inspired to release new music) have passed the point where tacky journalists/photo editors would comment on their "shaggability." I think Agnetha's music will be received on its merits. Yes, there'll be a little star-struck fawning here and there - especially from media outlets lucky enough to meet Agnetha in an interview/promotional setting, but I think the response will be mostly respectful and even-handed. That doesn't necessarily mean unanimous 5-star reviews, but we've been prepared for that since Voyage. I don't think it'll be arbitrarily mean-spirited. And - YAY! - joseph is back

You never know, this could be a joint venture with Frida? After all, it does say Where Do "We" Go From Here?! Maybe in a week or so, we'll get a similar message on Frida's socials?! Then a final reveal sometime later? Musical songs would be great with both of them! Or just songs they personally love. I would love to hear them sing Bridge Over Troubled Water together! One of my all time favourites! Just putting this thought out there really!

I’d love that, plus it’s peculiar that Voyage is a journey off into the unknown and now Agnetha is posing that question….

Plus!! I heard that ABBA’s business company was called 1221 as in ABBA, the logo for the Agnetha post is a + perhaps it’s two 1’s lying across each other?

There is no new album. A+ released on 13th October. One new song, where do we go from here. The album has been "re imagined". The mind boggles. Its available on amazon uk in standard, deluxe, vinyl and crystal clear vinyl editions.

Cold shower... And I thought they wouldn't make such a fuss about a reissue. Well, at least we know that Agnetha is interested in old stuff. But I wonder why it's BMG then. It should be on Universal. On the positive side... it means Agnetha certainly wasn't too busy to prevent her from secretly recording with ABBA (Hope is the last that leaves a man )

What the...?! Well, at least we know that Agnetha is interested in old stuff. New website and socials for a reissue, though? Interested in what the "reimagination" might involve - remixes? Duet vocals for some of the songs? Maybe the rumoured Kylie collab will be included? Good to have a release date, at least. Not long now!

P.S. I really don't want to be ungrateful but I'm at the phase of total anticlimax. I mean, if they didn't tease us that way, I would be jumping out of joy that we will get a new song by Agnetha but now... I'm underwhelmed. And more so because it is A they're re-releasing. Not exactly my favourite...
