Talking about the first Gemini album in the book Bright Lights, Dark Shadows, Carl Magnus Palm mentions that Another You, Another Me was written especially for Karin Glenmark, and he says, "A wide voice range and pitch-perfect singing does not guarantee a successful vocal performance". He also says, "Karin's voice lacked personality and warmth, which robbed the songs on the album of much of their emotional content".
Of the two versions of Just Like That, he says, "ABBA's fully arranged, multi-layered recording bounces along energetically, while the Gemini version is slow and flat, marked by unnecessarily histrionic vocals".
It's interesting to imagine Frida singing the Gemini version of Just Like That, and Karin Glenmark singing the ABBA version. What are your thoughts about Karin Glenmark's vocal performance, and about the two versions of Just Like That?

Well, at first I liked Karin Glenmark's style but gradually I somehow got tired of it and I must agree with Mr. Palm, that she is a bit histrionic. (there are some exceptions though - e.g. Mio Min Mio sounds good). And as for Just Like That - no doubt ABBA's version is superior. I don't understand how Björn and Benny can think otherwise...

I stumbled onto this Gemini song that was written by Bjorn and Benny, recorded in 1985, but not released until 2005.

I was not terribly keen on Gemini, although I did like a few of the Benny and Bjorn Songs,
that they sang - 'Slowly' and 'Mio Min Mio', ('Mio My Mio').
I've never heard 'When I Close My Eyes Tonight' before. I'd love to hear ABBA singing it.
I think that it is very good - especially the beautiful chorus.
It was on Gemini's 'Best Of' Album in 2005.
As was this Benny and Bjorn Song, which is not as strong, but it is quite good.
I think that this one has Children singing some of the backing vocals. The first time that
Benny and Bjorn had done that since 'I Have A Dream' in 1979.

^^When I Close My Eyes Tonight.. reminds me of another Gemini track, can't quite place , however it is very easy to believe that this and many others post ABBA including Josefin Nilsson, are missed ABBA tracks, created in the aftermath with the group still in mind, and could easily have been Opus 10, 11 or even 12.
Id loved to have heard ABBA themselves sing these tracks, especially Shapes by Josefin, imagine something like Where The Whales.....
It does make you ask , how many tracks in total, are actually written by the boys out there, and all those discarded....Those that could've been ABBA....
