Hi
I wonder if there is anyone else who remembers the ABBA adverts that used to appear in the UK on televised (and, I assume, non-televised) football matches?
By this, I mean on the advertising boards that separated the spectators from the pitch, and as such could be clearly seen from both within the stadium and by viewers at home?
Nowadays, these are electronic and highly technical advertisements, but 'back in the day', these consisted of just a single board or sheet of advertising material. There were certainly several instances where such promotion for 'Greatest Hits' was featured, and, I think possibly for the 'ABBA', 'Arrival' and 'The Album' LPs too?
It used to strike me as ironic that these could be seen on BBC1, a TV station that does not feature advertising...
I have not seen photos of these boards in recent years, nor heard of any examples where fans were able to get hold of one as a keep-sake. If anyone knows anything at all about this, please share!
regards
Gazman

A kind friend has just pointed out one example of what I am referring to - at 12 seconds into this video-clip - although this appears to be a 'free-standing' example....
