'ABBA GOLD' HAS GONE 18 TIMES PLATINUM IN THE UK -- (18 x 300,000 = 5,400,000)
(The B.P.I. is the British Phonographic Industry. They give out UK Sales Awards)
Today -- Friday 21st December -- The B.P.I. gave 'ABBA Gold' an 18th Platinum Award.
The B.P.I. is - finally - accepting that it has reached over 5,400,000 UK Sales. I, (and others), still get it to be on over 5,550,000 UK Sales. However, it has still earned 18 UK Platinum Awards, even with the higher Total. I think that they must have saved the latest Album Awards for Christmas. It is too much of a coincidence, that 5 of the Albums just happen to be the Top 5 'Most Weeks On The UK Chart' Albums:
1)... Greatest Hits (One) -- Queen -- (591 Top 75 Weeks and 856 Top 100 Weeks) -- 21 x Platinum = 6,300,000 UK Sales -- @@@
2)... ABBA Gold -- ABBA -- (590 Top 75 Weeks and 868 Top 100 Weeks) -- 18 x Platinum = 5,400,000 Sales
3)... Rumours -- Fleetwood Mac -- (569 Top 75 Weeks and 763 Top 100 Weeks) -- 13 x Platinum = 3,900,000 Sales
4)... Legend -- Bob Marley and The Wailers -- (613 Top 75 Weeks and 856 Top 100 Weeks) -- 12 x Platinum = 3,600,000 Sales
5)... Bat Out Of Hell -- Meat Loaf -- (455 Top 75 Weeks and 522 Top 100 Weeks) -- 11 x Platinum = 3,300,000 Sales
@@@ = 'Greatest Hits' (One) by Queen is not really 900,000 UK Sales more than 'ABBA Gold'. The 'Stand-Alone' Album, that was released in 1981, is really on 5,674,000 UK Sales. To get it to be on 6,300,000 Sales, you have to add in 66,000 Sales from a 1994 Double CD and 560,000 Sales from 'The Platinum Collection' = 626,000 'Enhanced' Sales. I was told that this was done, in 2006 and Alan Jones, (UK Chart Expert), confirmed it in September 2009. So 'Greatest Hits' (One) is really 274,000 above 'ABBA Gold'. Or just 94,000 ahead, if we accept 'ABBA Gold' to be on over 5,580,000 UK Sales.

Has there been any additional sales for KMKY, TNOTG, Super Trouper and Fernando following Mamma Mia Here we go again?

Madonnabba - There will have been additional Sales for all of the ABBA Songs in 'Mamma Mia! 2'.
Indeed, all of ABBA Songs would get a Sales 'boost', if ABBA are successful with their New Songs, The 'ABBAtars' Shows, (if they ever happen), and - most of all - a New ABBA Album - if we ever get one. At present, ABBA's Plans are up in the air and aimless. Like a Juggler, who has thrown several balls into the air and the lot of them stick to the ceiling!!! He is unsure when - or if - they will fall back into his hands...

I need to know how many albums were released during that time for me to grasp how impressive that is.
So off you trot to find out, Graham. 😆

Josef --You don't need to know how many UK Albums were released, to gauge how impressive it is for 'ABBA Gold' to be the UK's 46th Best Seller of the past Decade - 2010 to 2019.
An Album had to sell well over a Million to even reach No.100 in that Decade End Chart.
All you need to know, is that it is the 3rd time, in a row, that 'Gold' has been in the Decade end Top 100.
It was 9th for the 1990's Decade, (1990 - 1999), and 25th for 'The Noughties' Decade, (2000 - 2009).
No other Album has managed to be in 3 consecutive Decade End Top 100's in the UK. 'ABBA Gold' has set an even more impressive Chart Record. It has been in 3 Decade End Top 50's in a row...
'Greatest Hits' by Queen', has probably managed 3 Decade End Top 100's, but not 3 Decade End Top 50's. It was 4th for the 1980's. I'm not sure where it was for the 1990's, as no Top 100 was revealed. I guess that it would have been about 38th to 50th for the 1990's. It wasn't in 'The Noughties' Decade End Top 100. In the Decade End Top 100 for 2010 to 2019 it is in 89th place - far below 'Gold's 46th place. (Bear in mind that the Queen Album is supposed to be he UK's 'All Time' Best Selling Album, with 'Gold' in 2nd place).
