Phew, so the 12” thing was a red herring then. Thank goodness for that.
Yes, £70 is a bit pricey, especially when you consider the 2014 40-single set was just over £100. However, all seven picture discs would be around the same price. Also, as Hometime pointed out, the coloured vinyl looks to be some sort of splash blue design and is used on all of the singles. This isn’t what they did with Arrival and The Album, which were straightforward one colour to one single.
Guessing the inner gatefold of the album is the original inner sleeve “frame” design that had the lyrics on (presumably the lyrics are also included as the inner sleeves are new designs).
The photo on the box is not the same as the one on Does Your Mother Know. Among other differences, Agnetha’s hand is holding the bar from underneath instead of on top. Is this a never-before-seen alternate shot? The Arrival box similarly had an alternate take that I hadn’t seen before.

OK, I'm back on board with this now.... Or I will be when my eyes stop watering over the price.
I wonder when Amazon will list the items? The ABBAsite shop is far too vague about whether multiple items would be shipped together (and their P&P pricing is horrendous anyway). ABBF.nl have an offer for everything (LPs + box + pic discs) at €220. While they throw in a fanclub souvenir and a magnet, there is no indication what the P&P might amount to. I think hardcore collectors may need a lottery win!
One more point (and entirely academic, considering everything is pressed and warehoused by now), I wonder why Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and the extended Voulez-Vous got the simplest/best picture disc treatment? They're the only discs to have just the image and not the entire sleeve layout included. IMO, the other discs would have been much nicer if they had been given similar treatments. But hey-ho, I'm just nit-picking.

News has reached the Super Deluxe Edition blog. I’d like to know just how limited “extremely limited” is. www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/abba-voulez-vous-40th-anniversary-2lp-half-speed-plus-seven-inch-box/In one of the comments, someone mentions what the limited editions of the previous boxes were: Arrival – The Singles was limited to 2,000 The Album – The Singles was limited to 3,400 (curious number) This would explain why The Album box is still readily available on Amazon and Arrival isn’t. Amazon has the half-speed album listed but not the box or picture discs. Also Super Deluxe Edition states the box as “Out of stock”. Nothing to worry about as I remember a similar issue with The Album box at first.

Hello Alan, yes it would be interesting to know what criteria is used to determine the number of units as "limited" and why the unit variances between the sets. Also, the Udiscouver site is also listing the numbered set as "out of stock". The same happened the last 2 times, so I'm not concerned at this point, it will eventually come up on Amazon just like before, however, why the item listing delay is some what odd. In my case I was still able to secure copies of all the items in the previous 2 re-issue series. This numbered set comes in at a higher count then the other 2, so odds on getting one will be some what better.

4,500? So that’s more than either of the previous two boxes then! And with seven singles in them and that price, I can’t imagine it will be as popular.

The box set for the single from ABBA The Album is still available on Amazon (an amazing bargain containing the download code for the ENTIRE singles box set released a couple of years before, including an otherwise unavailable accordion mix of Andante, Andante). But I digress.
You're right, Alan: that price and those quantities are likely to have a fair few collectors engaging in brinkmanship in the hopes of prices being reduced to clear stock. The unit price for the picture discs is a bit rich across all of the sites. Did I really pay that for the previous releases? Was I mad?!

IMO, the other discs would have been much nicer if they had been given similar treatments. But hey-ho, I'm just nit-picking. It’s consistent with previous picture discs though. The ones for Arrival and The Album all had the titles and fonts from the original sleeves. Gimme Gimme Gimme is the odd one out here in not having them, but as the titles run along the top of the sleeve, it would have been difficult to include them without making the photo much smaller. I don’t like the I Have A Dream picture disc adaption though. The corners of the photo are cut off and it looks untidy. I’d have preferred a wider crop of the photo (if such a thing exists) going right to the edge, with the border at top and bottom only. I’ve never been a big fan of the official sleeve for that anyway - the original CBS-Epic version was much better! Plus the international one has the hideous and cringeworthy mistake, “Live at the Wembley”. I’m curious to know what the rest of the coloured vinyl discs look like. It looks as though the main six have an identical design, with a reverse of colours for the V-V extended version. If so, that’s quite boring. The box itself looks nice, but at the moment the rest of it isn’t really holding much appeal.

The photos for the picture discs need to be cropped to fit the smaller surface area that the record is. I think Universal did a bang up great job on this re-issue set, some of us out there really need to stop nit picking, with all due respect! As I recall, the Voulez-Vous extended re-mix was never commercially available, it was only ever issued as a DJ promo, with a generic sleeve, so hence the image used for the re-issue is also the generic Polar label image, makes sense to me. I'm pretty sure that the ltd. vinyl set has a sort of uniform marble finish on all the singles, rather individual colours. I just pre-ordered a set today, not cheap that's for sure!

No one’s arguing the fact that they have to be re-designed to fit the round disc, my only nit-pick was the I Have A Dream one, I just think the cut-off corners look a bit untidy and could have been done better.
Anyway, nit-picking is fine! These are luxury items that no one needs!
I’ll see what price Amazon has them at when it lists them (which it will).
I still think the inclusion of the extended Voulez-Vous is unnecessary. At six singles, this was already the most-likely biggest set.
If they do this for the five remaining albums, it’s unlikely any will have that many - even the 1982 singles included with The Visitors would still only push that up to four or five. Ring Ring and Waterloo could potentially have six each, but only if they included all the non-English versions. As they’ve excluded the Spanish versions from the Voulez-Vous one, this seems unlikely. I’m basing this on the 2014 singles box, but that was pushed up to 40 to match the anniversary it was marking. ABBA and Super Trouper would each have four.

Amazon Germany is, or at least was listing the numbered set at 81.00euros, the picture discs at 15.00euros each. Amazon U.K are so far listing only the half speed master, the U.S. or Canada have yet to list anything.
I am still of the opinion that less is more when issuing these anniversary sets.

Hmm. This evening, the box set seems to be listed as "sold out" at both uDiscover and ABBF.nl. Highly unlikely, I would have thought. No listings yet on any of the other online retailers.

Hmm. This evening, the box set seems to be listed as "sold out" at both uDiscover and ABBF.nl. When the items get released, they would become available. The same thing happened for the Arrival and The Album items.

Same scenario each time with this stuff, why is anyone's guess, maybe just promotional gimmicks! The only item consistently available for order on Amazon is the half speed master set. Depending on the country, Amazon will show some of the picture discs but not all, and any of which also indicate "out of stock" or "not available". The numbered set has only shown on Amazon Germany, which is where I pre-ordered my set from, I have yet to see it any where else via Amazon.

The boxed set of coloured vinyl singles is now showing on Amazon UK, but as “currently unavailable - we don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock”. Probably means it will appear properly next week or quite soon. No sign of the picture discs yet but plenty of time for that.

The German Amazon site has the box set at €74.99, which is a bit cheaper than ABBF.nl or uDiscover or the museum shop. The picture discs are €12.99 each (not all of them seem to be there just yet, though - SNC and both versions of VV seem to be missing in action so far)

Amazon Canada now showing numbered set for pre-order, $109.00cad, all but 2 picture discs also up for pre-order, $16.85cad. Amazon US showing picture discs, very expensive $23.45us Very odd how this is all rolling out!

eBay now has the picture discs listed, but at £10.99 plus £2 postage (I imagine the seller might combine postage). The box isn’t there yet. I’d say it’s all most likely to appear on the main sites from Tuesday but if not, there’s still no panic. Nothing would tempt me to order from ABBF.nl (always expensive) or the museum shop or uDiscover.

...Nothing would tempt me to order from ABBF.nl (always expensive)... Well, not this time actually. I stopped ordering from them long time ago (except for books) and usually use Bengans, but these Voulez-Vous releases are cheaper at the Fan Club shop ( www.bengans.eu/en/artiklar/minishops/abba/index.html). The prices are still crazy, especially when I consider that I was able to buy even all the Arrival items much later and some of them for half of the original price but after much hesitating, I pre-ordered the whole set from the ABBA Fan Club as mad as it may seem :-) I wasn't that keen on the whole idea when they started it with Arrival, thinking I don't need such items. But after I got the complete sets for both Arrival and The Album one by one, I would hate to miss out on any part of this one (and I guess it was Universal's intention, they got me, haha). The second reason is that this year it's 20 years since I joined the Fan Club and I thought I might thank them for their work this way… a bit sentimental, I admit :-)

Each to their own... but im not buying, gave up a long time ago, unless new material, what's the point.. if a collectors item I'll be long time dead before it would recoup its money, and extortionate now for something audiably we have a hundred times over... not sure how the new stuff will be released but sure hope it's in some physical form

According to the Polar the representatives any new material will be released as a download (itunes) and hard copy formats, (cd, vinyl). I can only speak for myself but, once a collector always a collector, it might become an issue down the road when you come to realize, "what does one do with all the stuff" so at this point I choose very carefully.

it might become an issue down the road when you come to realize, "what does one do with all the stuff" Yes, that's a bit of a problem indeed. I already started educating my wife what items are really valuable so that she would not just throw them away or sell them for ridiculous prices in case something happened to me…

Unfortunately, when we die, those who are left behind will most likely just want to get rid of anything that we collected in this life. My brothers loathe ABBA, so they will just dump my ABBA Collection on some pile of rubbish, or even burn it all in the garden. I long ago stopped letting such things upset me, as I cannot take it with me, and it is really none of my business, that my brothers will destroy my ABBA Collection, when I'm gone. We have to let go of the idea that what we see as being precious means hardly anything at all to many of those who we leave behind, when we die.
I'm more upset that my huge Book collection will be given away, or destroyed when I die. I have about 1,600 Books, and they mean Zero to my Family...

@onlyabba4me, what about writing a testament and entailing it all to somebody, who will appreciate it (e.g. me - just joking… to whomever.. a charity?)

@onlyabba4me, o-ho, I'm kind of flattered I suppose more so that my posts are so infrequent … well if you really mean it, then the person you should entail all your ABBA treasures and your extensive library to is quite obvious, isn't it? By the way… I very much like reading your posts too and admire your ABBA, charts etc. knowledge - and I'm not saying this to lure you into making me your heir

Colin, for what it’s worth, I also have a fairly big (non-ABBA-related) collection of things, some of which have a little value. My friends and family are not in need, so I have left the collection in my will to charity. On a purely selfish level, it gives me some pleasure that a couple of good causes will benefit. Just a suggestion!
