Hi, Has anyone listened to the Easter Bank Holiday ABBA Special called Let's ABBA Party. I must say I was somewhat disappointed with this broadcast. I felt it was rushed and so many songs were not played entirely. The selection was not brilliant either. Under Attack, Money Money Money and I Have A Dream are hardly deemed classics so why play these. Nikky Chapman as presenter is not to blame as she did a very good job. It is the fault of the producer. So many ABBA classics were omitted including Chiquitita, One Of Us, The Winner Takes It All and The Day Before You Came. Many viewers I am sure were expecting these songs to appear on the playlist. Instead we heard lacklustre performances from Cher and Meryl Streep. ( I am not a fan of Mamma Mia The Movie.) I was very disappointed when I saw the first movie. The songs were performed very badly and I had no motivation to see the sequel. I will not be listening to any other ABBA Specials from now on. And while I am on the subject, the television documentary When All Is Said And Done was truly appalling. This was put together on a low budget as are most television programmes. Why are our expectations dashed these days.

I listened to it today at work. I quite liked it. I like that songs like Dance (While The Music Still Goes On) and Ring Ring (Swedish version) were played and not the usual run-of-the-mill hits. Even Just A Notion (the Undeleted snippet) was played.
I also liked hearing what Björn thought of the albums now. I was surprised that he was surprised Arrival was their best-selling studio album.

Ah, that sounds good. I hope I can listen to it on catch up. I’m always interested to hear what artists think of their own work in retrospect. I’d love to know what Benny thinks are the ‘good 15 ABBA songs’ that he has mentioned before.
