Hi. I think if I am not mistaken, according to the book, ABBA The Complete Recording Sessions, the top 5 are, SOS, The Name Of The Game, Knowing Me Knowing You, The Winner Takes It All and Dancing Queen. In my opinion, these are definitely the best and in a league of their own. Regarding the other 10 songs, this is pure speculation on my part, Eagle, When I Kissed The Teacher, If It Wasn't For The Nights, Our Last Summer, Slipping Through My Fingers, When All Is Said And Done, The Day Before You Came, One Of Us, Happy New Year and Kisses Of Fire. What about some of the other hits, Mamma Mia, Take A Chance On Me, Fernando, Chiquitita, Gimme Gimme Gimme ( A Man After Midnight ), Voulez-Vous and Lay All Your Love On Me. It would very interesting to discover Benny and Bjorn's Top 15 ABBA Songs.

Although not a favourite of mine, I think they were fond of ‘ I Wonder’. And I wonder too.....Why it made it on to Greatest Hits Vol 2 is beyond me as it never was a single, Presume it was because of their liking of the song, I preferred the live version.

For no particularly good reason, I am interested in Benny’s and Bjorn’s opinions about their own songs. It would be fascinating to know what the ‘15 good ABBA songs’ are that Benny referred to. It would also be interesting to know which songs they don’t rate very highly. I agree with the comments above. All I can add is that I am sure Benny has spoken approvingly of I Let The Music Speak, less approvingly of As Good As New, and I think he likes the verse of The Visitors but not the chorus.

Page 237 of the recent edition of The Complete Recording Sessions gives some insight into what Benny likes about an ABBA song. Oddly to us fans perhaps, he is unsure that The Name Of The Game is a good song. On the other hand, Money Money Money and Thank You For The Music are cited as songs he likes.

Surprised at his choice of TFTM. Understand MMM though. There is a lot of atmosphere in the song. A lot going on in the background. As a kid I liked TFTM. But the song has not aged well. Very of its time. Probably my least favourite on The Album and should never have appeared on Gold. That place should have gone to Summernight City , Ring Ring or Angel Eyes.
