Looking at the Abba catalogue I realised that most if not all of Abba’s Darker songs come from later in the career starting with MMM , KMKY, Marionette then Me&I, The Piper, TWTIA, SILOC,The Visitors, Soldiers, WAISAD, one of us, Cassandra , LAAPTMR and TDBYC . Even STMF . What a journey from I am just a girl and Rock n roll band. Mind you Disillusion was on that that album. The more menacing being I am a Marionette, ThePiper, The Visitors and Soldiers.

I totally agree with you, many of ABBA's songs were quite dark. Even some of the upbeat numbers like " Angeleyes ", " If It Wasn't For The Nights " and " That's Me " carried rather serious undertones in the lyrics. " Tiger " too, is a quite menacing number. " Beware of the city at night ". The big disco hits for example, VV, GGG and " Summer Night City " although serious enough were more of a provocative nature.
