Cher is already recording her 2nd ABBA Covers Album.
She seems to have already chosen 6 Songs for it and she wants her Fans to suggest 2 more. However, that would still only give her Album 8 Tracks, which is not very many, these days.
Fans have suggested that she records: Ring Ring, Honey Honey, I've Been Waiting For You, Knowing Me, Knowing You, Angel Eyes, Does Your Mother Know, Andante Andante, Lay All Your Love On Me and The Visitors.
Apparently, she really likes 'Chiquitita', as she did it in English, on her 1st ABBA Album, and now she is thinking of doing it in Spanish, on her 2nd ABBA Album.
Here is what she says in her Twitter Account:
Right This Second
“When All is Said & Done”,😥
(But When Its Finished,Think)
“ Chiquitita en Español”💔
🤔”Take a Chance On Me”
🤫I Do,I Do,I Do,I Do,I Do
🥳Super Trooper
😵Voulez Vous
2 more Tracks,But ⁉️

At the moment I can’t say I’m to inspired... Chiquitita in Spanish sounds like it could be interesting, but alas not an all time favourite of mine....

Oh no. As if the first one wasn't bad enough. Her versions added absolutely nothing to the originals. Completely devoid of any artistry or panache.
How anyone would willingly listen to her tacky versions instead of the sublime originals is one of life's great mysteries.
I actually like Cher. But leave ABBA alone, ffs.

I'm not keen on Cher's ABBA Covers either.
However, she was bound to do a 2nd ABBA Album, as the first one was a Hit all over the World. It was her biggest Global Album in many Years.
As such, she was never going to just leave it at the 'Dancing Queen' Album.
Besides, many people, (some Fans, some Critics), felt that she did better versions of the ABBA Songs than ABBA did. I - personally - cannot accept that, but that is what a lot of people said. They especially liked her 'SOS' and 'One Of Us'.
We'll just have to watch as her 2nd ABBA Album becomes an International Hit.
If she's not careful, she could end her Career being seen as: 'The One Woman Bjorn Again'....

Any suggestion that any Cher version of an ABBA classic is "better" is preposterous. I'm biased, of course I am, but it really is a ridiculous idea.

^Actually, that's a fair comment. It's not a bad stab at the song really. I know it's just her style but some of her pronunciations I struggle with. I like the fade out and the fact it's stripped back.
I do think ABBA's version is one of their so-called hidden gems. It's like people forgot it or didn't see how great the song was because of how crestfallen the group looked and the fact they were soon to rapidly fall from favour before much longer. But I think the song itself is a cracker and one of their best.

I don't know what songs are on the first album, but if she hasn't already, she should record Like An Angel Passing Through My Room and maybe Andante, Andante and The King Has Lost His Crown.

She is playing it rather 'safe' with both 'ABBA' Albums.
Mostly just Songs from the 'Mamma Mia! Film - with an emphasis on those that were ABBA Singles.
She is not attempting to 'introduce' less well known ABBA Songs to 'The World'.
It is all as risk free as possible.
The Tracks on the 'Dancing Queen' Album:
01)... Dancing Queen 02)... Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) 03)... The Name of the Game 04)... SOS 05)... Waterloo 06)... Mamma Mia 07)... Chiquitita 08)... Fernando 09)... The Winner Takes It All 10)... One of Us

If she'd been truly brave and artistic she'd have tackled some of ABBA's lesser known hidden gems. There are so many to choose from. As it is, she may as well have just recorded GOLD, track by track.
Boring and unimaginative.
