'The Best Of ABBA' - Australian issue - it will forever be the top of the list - simply because of the emotion and nostalgia attached to it for me. I also happen to really love the cover. I know many others who do not like the photo used - but I love it For actual content, my favourite at the moment is the recent Japanese release of '40/40 The Best Selection' - really is a great mix of songs on 2 cd's.

In terms of track listing it would have to be The Essential Collection, there's so many tracks on it. I do like Singles First 10 Years but also Greatest Hits and Greatest Hits Vol 2.
I must be one of the few UK fans who doesn't own any edition of Gold though.

No edition of Gold Kevin ? Not even one ?? Goodness, what a rarity you are ! It does seem that every UK Abba fan has a copy of Gold. I just want a picture of the group on the cover dammit and Gold doesn't give you that so that's my excuse for not having a copy and I'm sticking to it

Fair enough Kevin - we all have our own individual reasons for what we do and don't have or like. It is a shame that they chose to not use an image on the cover - especially with all the reincarnations. I am just so used to fans who have every single version and release of Gold that it's strange to find someone with none ! Myself, I have a few of the releases - but not all

The original Greatest Hits released in 1976 in Ireland and the UK (the park bench photo). This was the first time ever that posters and promos were all over every record shop in town. Mamma Mia had been No.1 in Jan/Feb after ending Bohemian Rhapsody's 9 week reign at zither top. As Fernando was released the album was re-issued with a sticker on the front 'now including Fernando'. The LP was everywhere and that's when ABBA really took off. By the time Arrival came out in November, ABBA were a phenomenon. So for me, GH is the best, nostalgic compilation. And it was the first time I heard tracks like He is your Brother, So Long etc.
