I am not sure that some people know what a Super Trouper is. I know that in the past it was referred to as Super Trooper in articles . A few years before release Sarah Brightman had a hit with I fell in love with a Starship Trooper. I don’t even know if the lights are referred to as Super Troupers now.

Madonnabba -- A lot of people on Chart Sites etc. still refer to the ABBA Song as 'Super Trooper'. They think that the Song is about some kind of Super Hero Soldier! They have never seen the 'Super Trouper' Video, as they would see that there are no Soldiers in it! Here is a Link to a History of Super Trouper Lighting: link

I don’t like that it’s a brand name. It’s like calling Arrival “Bell Helicopter”.

Yeah, I often see Trouper misspelled as trooper.
The title doesn't actually bother me. On the cover, the group are illuminated by one and the fame game is one of having the spotlight on you all the time, living in a goldfish bowl, so it seems apt to me. Plus, I actually find it rather brilliant to pen a song using a spotlight as a metaphor about life and loneliness on the road. Rather ingenious, if you ask me.

Something else occurred to me..ABBA are fairly often referred to as "those Swedish Super Tro(u)opers" so it's also become an affectionate nickname/pun.
I'd never heard of a Super Trouper so I simply gathered what is was from the lyrics. I never really thought of it beyond that. I suppose if I had heard of them before I might have thought it rather strange. As it was, I simply liked how catchy it was. Well, you do when you're a kid, don't you? It's all repetition and hooks. Only now can I see how the "supa-pa pa" part could grate but it never really bothered me. I just thought it was very ABBAish, along with, "aha!" in KMKY. ABBA got away with murder, really! 😆
