Please keep an eye out for news of these releases in the June edition of the Official International Fan Club Magazine.
The magazine is being despatched as we speak.

All the magazine said was “To celebrate its 40th anniversary, there are going to be a number of releases in connection with Super Trouper later this year.” That wasn’t saying much.

Well it's confirmation that it's happening, which is surely good news.

Well, I suppose they can't reveal much at this stage. Not until an official announcement, which won't come earlier than in July or August, the focus now being fully on the coloured vinyls box...
I expect the releases to happen just in time for Christmas - after all, Super Trouper was originally released in November, wasn't it? And there are still the new songs to come out, which will hopefully happen sometime between the coloured vinyls and the Super Trouper set. There's much to look forward to...

If they continue the 7 inch picture discs of the singles, which of course I hope they do, I would expect the winner takes it all to appear in July or August.

The full bundle (the picture discs, the coloured singles box and the half-speed mastered album) has always come out simultaneously in case of all previous albums, so I guess it will be the same this year.

This is the Official International Fan Club, so it is an official announcement. I think you mean 'more detail won't come earlier than July or August', which is probably true. I would indeed expect 'formats' to be similar to what was done for The Album, Voulez-Vous etc.

Would they release Happy New Year as a standalone single at the end of this year like they did in 2018 and 2019 because it’s probable that it would be included in the Singles Boxset as well.

I'm afraid they will… the question is only what colour the vinyl will be. I'm curious which songs will make it into the box. It will hardly contain just the two international singles. I guess LAYLOM is a hot candidate.

Is icethesite still going? The last I saw was when Benny was interviewed way back in December 2018 and he confirmed they were working on a 3rd song?

I'm curious which songs will make it into the box. It will hardly contain just the two international singles. I guess LAYLOM is a hot candidate. The 2014 singles box had Lay All Your Love on Me (UK artwork) and Happy New Year (Portugal artwork, I think?) so I’d imagine it will be those four in this release, with the same artwork. The Happy New Year yearly releases are separate from this, with their own artwork, as was the Record Store Day issue of Summer Night City. I hope it’s no more than those four - seven was a bit much with Voulez-Vous.

Seven singles was too expensive. I feel pretty ripped off after the fact that you could’ve got the box set for half the price (£35 or something like that) at hmv a few months after it was released.

I am expecting 3 singles in the boxset when it emerges at the end of October - 'The Winner Takes It All'/'Elaine', 'Super Trouper'/'The Piper' and 'Lay All Your Love On Me'/'On And On And On'. Plus, hopefully, individual picture disc singles to accompany the 2LP Abbey Road remaster.
That will still leave way for the 2020 edition of 'Happy New Year' /'Felicidad' a few weeks later, in a different colour vinyl to the white and clear ones we've had already. Polar/Universal has previously said they plan that release as an annual one.

Thanks, Rubber Ball Man. It is such an outstanding song full of heartbreak and pain and one of ABBA's most beautiful songs. Very iconic and the song has stood the test of time very well. I can remember hearing the song for the first time and falling in love with it from the start. Although a very sad song it brings back fond memories of a happier and less stressful time than now for me. One of my favourites from ABBA.

It makes me wonder how The Winner Takes It All will be approached on a picture disc because the original artwork won’t be able to fit without cropping the logo and title like the first picture. Would they resort to something similar to the second picture? What do you think?

I sincerely hope it's like the nicely composed second image you posted. I'm curious to see what emerges in this set and whether they'll revert to different colours for each disc?

Yes, I’d say the second photo. All of the sleeves so far have been adapted in some way. Super Trouper would need to be as well, otherwise, again, the titles would be cut off. Similar with Lay All Your Love On Me. Happy New Year (assuming they use the Portuguese artwork that they did in the 2014 singles box) is slightly more adaptable to a round image.
Hoping for different colours in the box version as well.

Yes, I too would choose the second disc for TWTIA and would like to see different coloured discs representing the four hit singles as part of the 40th anniversary of ST. I must admit you have a great artistic flair, Rubber Ball Man.

Yay, it's my 40th anniversary and a lot of celebration (my name here is Super Trouper). Just kidding. The exhibition has a same name too, I didn't even think about it! Anyway, I love how it says a NUMBER of releases.

ST is my favourite ABBA studio album and it will be interesting how the leading singles will be represented when the 40th anniversary edition is released.

Also looking forward to the picture disc releases as everybody is on here. WTIA second image is what they could do for pic disc design. LAYLOM design is tricky, my idea is shown below...
