According to an eBay listing, last year’s clear vinyl edition had 4,000 pressed. This ties in with the coloured vinyl boxes... each time, the issue has been less limited than the previous one. The Voulez-Vous one was publicised as being “extremely limited” but actually was issued in larger numbers than The Album, which in turn was more common than Arrival. I’m not normally interested in the Happy New Year issues, but as this one does tie in with the Super Trouper 40th box, I might make an exception. There won’t be room in the box for it though, which is a pity. Super Deluxe Edition mentions that Happy New Year was only a single in Argentina originally, but this is incorrect as Portugal did so (also Peru). |

I feel much better now so I have re-joined this Site.
Due to its 'Limited' 2020 Re-Issue, 'Happy New Year' has re-entered the UK Vinyl Chart - at No.3.
It is its 10th Week in that Chart. It was a Vinyl No.2 Hit in 2018, and a No.1 Vinyl Hit in 2019.
It has also re-entered the Physical Singles Chart at No.3. It is its 20th Week in that Chart.
It was a Physical No.3 Hit in 2018 and a Physical No.1 Hit in 2019.

Yes, welcome back, Colin.
I did get the single this year, as it ties in with the Super Trouper anniversary. The blue is similar (or the same) as The Winner Takes It All in the box. I think I’d still have preferred it to replicate the Portugal issue from 1980 and get the picture disc treatment as well, but it’s nice to have as a one-off. I notice the Super Trouper session shot used on the label is another alternate photo I’ve not seen before.
