Maybe I'm contradicting myself in what I said in my last post in the To Post Or Not To Post Thread - that starting non-ABBA music topics here is a waste of time. Hope not in this instance, so here goes!
Anyone on this forum who is into other styles of popular music in addition to ABBA, might want to check out Rick Beato on YouTube. I think he has some very interesting things to say about about some pop and rock musicians and their music - not ABBA as of yet, unfortunately, but hopefully he will sometime - and also classical now and then. Rick Beato is a trained musician and knows his stuff, and is also a very good guitarist, by which means he often demonstrates his points. However, in this video, he's talking about Beethoven and his deafness. Well worth watching, imo, even if - perhaps especially if! - you don't go much on classical music :-)
I don't suppose Rick Beato, American though he is, is ignorant of ABBA; but their music may not be his cup of coffee - which, if so, I would find puzzling. But we've all got our preferences and blind spots when it comes to music! I hope he will do a video on ABBA sometime. Even if critical, I'm sure it would be interesting to disagree with! :-). But, mostly, I think he focuses on what he can be positive about - on music and musicians he likes. So if he doesn't mention ABBA, we can make our own assumptions. :-)
Anyway, Martin, welcome to the forum. It could do with some more contributions!

Richard and Martin....end the speculation right now. Email rickbeato.com and ask him about ABBA. I’ll bet Mr. Beato , American though he is, has one of those fancy email machines.(I think you call them computers in Europe.) I can’t wait to hear what he has to say.
In case anyone is interested, I haven't had a reply to my email from Rick Beato. i won't be chasing it up. I'm sure he's busy; and I don't want to come across as a pathetic, needy fan, which I'm not. Pity though, because I really like what he has to say about popular music and musicians.
