I'm surprised there wasn't a discussion about this one - this seems to be treated more like a footnote. Simon Sheridan notes in one of his ABBA books that Reg Grundy Productions was involved in the development, but its final results were primitive / less than what they were going for. They supposedly took inspiration from Rankin-Bass' Jackson Five and Osmonds series and hoped to do the same for Australia. They did made some of the films that signalled that there would be a cartoon series which have made it as an extra for the Arrival album reissues IIRC in the 2000s, but that seems to be about it for them.
This screams horrid Filmation-quality (cf. Mission Magic) - but it's less of an eyesore than Jim Henson's ABBA puppets.
