The link doesn't work for me unfortunately. Probably the podcast was already removed? Pity, The Album is my absolute favourite...

Michal, oh no, I just checked and it's still there so not sure why you can't access it? Maybe it depends where you're located? I'm not sure. There is always a way to get 'round these things so I hope you find a way or perhaps someone here with more tech knowledge can help? I've included two screenshots which include the names of the people participating in the podcast.

If it depends on the location, I'm sure I can bypass that. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thanks for that link to that podcast, Joseph. Great to hear intelligent, appreciative discussion of ABBA's music in relation to The Album. I like the analogy of their voices: Agnetha, sunlight; Frida, moonlight. Slightly misleading, imo, but an attractive bit of poetic shorthand. Eagle hasn't been a big favourite of mine, but thair comments will make me listen to it anew.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Richard. I certainly did! I was surprised I actually listened to it all the way through as it's quite long but I thought it was very good and they're clearly real fans of the group, quite knowledgeable, refreshingly honest and not afraid to not love everything on the album. Regarding describing Agnetha as sunlight and Frida as moonlight, I get what they were trying to say but there are better ways to describe them. Still, it's another interesting description to add to the list. One I heard fairly recently went something along the lines of how Agnetha's voice was oh I forget the words they used now but anyway something about how when Frida joined in, she "thickened" it (the joining of their vocals). Once again, I do get what they're trying to say but it's rather clumsy and implies Frida just added backing vocals or something when she was as intrinsic, as essential as Agnetha and anyone else in the group.

I enjoyed that podcast. I like that they came to the album respecting the group but not such die-hard fans that they lost objectivity. I agreed with so much of what they said (but I still rate I Wonder a lot higher than they do). I liked the sunlight/moolight analogy - I think it's reasonably fair and a song like The Name Of The Game is probably a great illustration of that.

I didn't really agree with their analysis of Hole In Your Soul and I think they missed the point of I Wonder. I don't know what they were expecting? It's not a catchy pop tune and isn't meant to be.
