Thank you so much, Lamont, for your generosity in writing that review. Any more afterthoughts and opinions you might have, or extra memories that pop into your head, please add those notes here whenever/if ever they occur. Thanks again! Lots of love and positivity here. I’ll rack my brains! My partner who was with me, and is a bit sick of ABBA, came with me, and in other shows he would have went to the bar, but he said he didn’t want to miss anything. It was nice that all 4 spoke greatly in the show. I’d love to experience it again, and that’s what it is, an experience.

there is already a video of the show on yt, I won't post it here, since it could be to much of a spoiler, even here... If you really want to watch it, you know what to do...
if I ever go to see the show, It will be the dancefloor, for me, or the ABCDE section because of the light system. It is great but it can obstruct the view of the stage...

I had to look up those videos, and wow, I am happy. :') In many ways I feel like the avatars move a little too much compared to ABBA back in the day, but it's still really good. I look forward to more videos in the future haha

Well both the show and the webshop are doing very well by the looks of it.
Both coffe mugs, drumsticks and Voyage red vinyl have all disappeared from the website.
They must have sold out already!

7 songs from the show are on youtube. Even though I’m seeing it today, I couldn’t stop myself from checking them out on YouTube. I don’t think it will compare to seeing it for real but gives an idea of what to expect. Some of the dance moves, particularly in LAYLOM, are very un-ABBA. And a bit strange to see c1977 Agnetha performing The Winner Takes It All.

Some of the dance moves, particularly in LAYLOM, are very un-ABBA Yes, probably in some of the faster songs you can find some exaggerated moves, on the other hand, most of the show features the classic ABBA choreography. It felt very natural. The Visitors performance is definitely a highlight. My jaw dropped and during the first few songs there were moments when I really had to fight back tears. Enjoy the show tonight!

Thanks Michal. Actually this afternoon! Starts at 3pm. A long shot, but I don’t suppose there were any red vinyls of Voyage on sale there were there? Gone from the website, but I wondered if they might have an allocation for each show. Other than the programme, that’s the only merchandise I’m interested in. Can only assume they put no limit on how many people could order, so of course they’re all over eBay at ridiculous prices.

Alan, I haven't seen the red vinyl on sale there and I actually have learnt about its existence from this forum (I guess HOMETIME mentioned it). As all copies on eBay are pre-orders to be sent out in June, I think it wasn't released yet. But if I'm wrong and there will be copies for sale at show, I would appreciate if somebody bought it for me. However, it may yet reappear on the official website, as the other colour variants did. * Mod: it was actually daronjulian that alerted us to it! Alan.

The Voyage coloured vinyls, Green, Blue & White all sold out mega quickly. But they were back on sale again within a matter of days as the stocks had been replenished.
I expect this to happen with the Red vinyl edition of Voyage.

Michal, Alan, Keep checking on the abbavoyage website for the stocks to be added back onto it. The show is due to rune for three years, just think how much they can make from keep stocking up the webshop.

A minor niggle for me is that in a few songs when the Abbatars are on stage they don’t have microphones.

Nope, not me! (It is an attractive colour, though. But I have to forbid myself from ordering it, having blown every budget on the picture discs). BTW, if anyone in Ireland (or due to visit Ireland) still needs a copy of Voyage, head to Golden Discs. I spotted yesterday that the vinyl edition is €13. The CD is €6 - or €4 with any other purchase. Sounds like they over-stocked.

I got back from London yesterday evening, after having seen the show on Thursday and Friday. I can say that it exceeded my expectations. This is definitely a show that should be experienced live at the Arena, together with the other audience members, young and old. The atmosphere inside the Arena was electrifying. Before the show started, you could feel the excitement building with the audience chanting "We want ABBA" at times, just like in The Movie. And then the show opened with The Visitors, as the ABBATars emerged from the stage in their dazzling costumes. It sent shivers down my spine.
After that you are thrown in one visual treat after the other. ABBA really set the bar with this innovative show. Never say never, but Voyage (album and show) is almost certainly the last project they do together. I really can't imagine them recording another album, and they also say as much in the foreword of the program book. That they recorded one last album with Voyage, which was a joyful experience but at the same time sad as well, because of the finality of it. I was thinking the other day: not so many years ago we were all only hoping for one last picture of them together. And look at what we got now. We've gotten so much more than we could have ever hoped for. Pictures and footage of them together, posing and working in the studio. A brand new full album. A mind blowing concert experience. All four of them appearing together on stage on opening night. How could ABBA give us any more after this?
In a way, it's as if they have handed over their career to the ABBATars, while the real ABBA gracefully bow out. With Voyage they are going out on an unprecedented high. They have taken a huge risk with this project. For an iconic group like ABBA to return after 40 years of absence with a new album and concert experience, it could have all backfired. But it's a jaw-dropping triumph. For those who have yet to go to the show: brace yourselves, you are in for the ride of your lifetime! Enjoy!

It felt very natural. The Visitors performance is definitely a highlight. My jaw dropped and during the first few songs there were moments when I really had to fight back tears. Enjoy the show tonight! From what I could see online, I totally agree. I also think this supports the idea that many had about the ABBAtars creating videos for stone-cold classics that were never originally afforded a video. TV, LAYLOM and DSMD jump to mind. Popping fully polished clips out there at carefully considered intervals could help promote the show (because let's face it, by then audience members will have posted so much of the show online). The tracks could be sent to radio - whether in Voyage versions or original mixes - as buzz singles, drawing attention to the show and to the original parent album(s). As someone who has yet to buy a ticket, the leaked clips only made me want to see it more. One thing I noticed from these video leaks is that the light show appears between the ABBAtars and the audience - especially if you're in a seat at a higher level. Can anyone who was there confirm? Superb post, Michel !

It's good to see new members appearing here, although I'm unsure why they come up as 'guest'? Anyway, new blood is always good. Oops, I sound like a vampire!
How cool to see ABBA get in a taxi! When they could have pitched up in a limo, you know? A nice touch. I love how unaffected and down to earth ABBA still are. No vanity, lots of humour, no airs and graces. Humility comes through. It's one of the reasons I love them.
I haven't been able to resist watching the odd clip but even so I'm sure actually being there will knock my socks off and a clip on YouTube simply doesn't do any of it justice.
Regarding dance moves...well, this is supposed to be a version of ABBA as they might be now, with some hints of the past. Who knows, in a parallel universe Agnetha and Frida might have honed their dance moves and been slick! I'm ok with suspending my disbelief. I can see movements of the Abbatars which definitely reference moves 'the girls' performed during tv appearances, official videos, concerts, etc. It's an imagining. I really wish I lived in London. By the sounds of it, I'd be popping along to the arena more than once!

From the ytube clips you can see that what they've pulled off is nothing short of a technical miracle. I'll certainly be going in person later in the year when I can get there ! I hope they might consider more motion capture to give the ABBATARS more songs in the future! This show has the potential to run for a very long time. Very brave of them to be the first to come up with a fantastic new format of live shows. Its a testament to how good it is, that even their critics who were expecting this to be a disaster are gob smacked after seeing it.

I found the video of Benny hailing a black cab and them all piling in to be quite comical. Did they not think of ordering a taxi in advance Someone on Facebook posted an advert for the colourful gown that Benny is wearing and it costs a little over 10000 Euros.

Thanks for your account, lamont. What was the background for "The Visitors"? I'm so glad they included LAYLOM, especially with it being such an after-thought as a single. The background for The Visitors also has the letters of ABBA appearing in lights at some point, just like they did at the end of the 1977 and 1979 concerts. If I remember correctly, in the show LAYLOM excludes the third verse. At the end of the song, Agnetha and Frida are transported back from the giant screens onto the stage as the lifesize ABBATars as they segue into Summer Night City. Quite a visual treat! WAISAD was a highlight as well, I thought. It's beautifully staged/choreographed. Frida is left alone on stage as she sings her solo parts and is only joined by the others on the parts where the whole group sings. When the joint-sung parts are finished they walk back in the dark and leave Frida on her own. I also love how the song ends abruptly with a synthesizer lick (the same one that's heard before the line "It's so strange, when you're down"), with Frida gazing poignantly into the distance.

The Visitors is great because each letter appears individually behind the group, then suddenly all together to spell out ABBA! In huge lights like the 77 & 79 tours. Simple but effective.

Does anyone know how much of the music is supposed to be live? Part of it? All if it? Just watched 'The Winner...' on YouTube and it sounds like a carbon copy of the original. You would expect at least a slightly different sound to some elements (e.g. piano tone, guitar strums) if this was done live on the night. I'm guessing much/most of it is pre-recorded with some extra embellishments from the live musicians on the night but be good to know. Thanks.

Michel's great post about his two experiences of the concert, and his remarks about ABBA bowing out, handing over to their avatars, does now convince me that 'this is it', finally, pretty much - apart from a little bonus or two, here and there, perhaps: such as the two unfinished songs, if they get completed to Benny's satisfaction, and When All Is Said And Done as a single with visuals from the Voyage concert, as this seems to be getting some traction.

The black cab that ABBA arrive and leave in was actually ordered. Benny is simply flagging it down. The woman who drove the cab got to see the concert, too. She posted about it on her Instagram account.

I guess they only travelled in it for a few minutes though lol.

But imagine that during some songs there are no ABBAtars on stage at all. You virtually watch videos on giant screens then. I thought it was a bit strange, but it completely absorbed me anyway

Loving these photos of Agnetha and Frida. With her stylish sunglasses on, Frida looks a little like Carrie Fisher, I think.
