Maybe this topic is a bit much, what with the unprecedentedly hot weather we're getting in the UK and Europe at the moment; but the idea has occurred to me and so I thought I'd go with it anyway. Any favourite tracks that have a summery feel for you? But they don't have to be specifically about summer, as long as they have that sort of vibe for you. Or maybe something less upbeat?
I'm afraid ABBA's Our Last Summer is not a big favourite of mine. The melody lacks something for me: maybe not light and wistful enough to match the theme? (And since, I've read, the music invariably came first when Benny and Björn wrote the songs, I have to say that I think Björn wrote the 'wrong' lyrics for this tune. But I do like the backing harmonies on the track.) And apologies to those who love the song.
The Young Rascals, a US 60s group, hardly known now, I imagine, but they had big hits in the US, including 'How can I Be Sure' which was covered by David Cassidy and Dusty Springfield, respectively. Love this one, a US #1 in 1967.

Nice one, Rich. I know nothing about the Lagoons, beyond the fact that the band effectively comprises two brothers. I found out about them via a guitar manufacturer's website (they appear to be associated with a particular make). Anyway, this bit of easy-on-the-ears-and-mind summery mellowness would seem to fit the bill. Anyone who likes gentle, unforced vocals should get on with this, and the laidback guitar and somnolent sax add nicely to the unhurried feel:
