I suppose like everyone here something will cause me to revisit an ABBA recording I haven't listened to for some time or forgotten about. In particular with the recent developments in extractive technology allowing instrumentals or vocals to be heard in isolation. Unfortunately the process is never perfect with these old recordings but it allows us to hear with greater clarity the chords, harmonies and hooks which reveal the complexity of the band's music.
For me one of those tracks is Move On. I enjoyed it when it came out, it was a bit out of character for their music at the time. The only negative for me was Bjorn speaking the words - he had a great voice and I would have preferred him to sing those lines.
What has recently drawn me back to listen to this song was a harmonies extraction on Youtube. I've found other extractions which have made me once again love this song.
If you like Move On here are some links worth listening too:
1. A great instrumental extraction:
2. This has the instruments and backing vocals. Listen from 2:45 to 3:25 where you can hear Frida's superb harmony:
3. Not ABBA but a wonderful piano instrumental:
