I don't understand most of the fans not liking the song. Over the years everyone wanted a Christmas song from Abba now we have one but they are still not happy as it's not the RIGHT Christmas song so Abba can't win. I for one love the song, and yes I did hear it being played over this past Christmas on radio and in the shops around Cardiff.

It’s not that I dislike it, and it’s from my point of view only, it was a disappointment, I was one of the fans that really wanted a Christmas track, ( look at the very early posts on Voyage, before release and knew what we were getting, ) So the fact that it’s not a up tempo boppy little ditty is my issue, I feel if it had been what I wanted, being a little selfish here, we would have a hit every year, just like the “ classic” Christmas hits, Wham, Mariah etc , love them or hate them, both have been number one again here in the UK, a fantastic feat considering the age of each track. Little Things had that potential, but alas falls short for the UK public, and alas myself.
As stated by many if it had been a stand alone single it may have done better, if we are talking charts , but I still feel it would not have cracked the top 40, so it’s a matter of preference really, Christmas is a marmite time , most drive me up the wall ! so my disappointment stems from it not being what I wanted, totally selfish, but we all have preferences. The track it’s self is pretty harmless and fits in the vein for me of those middling Abba tracks that you listen to infrequently, and alas it’s going to be around Christmas.
You may have been lucky, in hearing it on the radio, but for myself , nothing, and I listen to around 6 hours a day........

I quite like Little Things, has grown on me quite a bit, I've said before that I think the vocals are lovely. I, for one, am glad it isn't a big hit every year, it's bad enough the association with the Mamma Mia movies, let alone Christmas every year lol!! More cheese anybody??!!!!! (for those of you that love the movies, I can't dispute their part in ABBA's success over the past decade or so)!
I guess I just like to think of ABBA as above all that! I love Mariah, but the first song I think of when I think of her is All I Want For Christmas Is You!!!!

A series of drippy unimaginative festive cliches. Christmas stockings, Santa, children playing. Dismal stuff. Such a missed opportunity.

I resent the fact that it’s on Voyage. A stand-alone single would have been better. I won’t listen to the song outside of December so it means I have to skip it, and I hate doing that. The lyrics are awful.

I don't like it. It so bland it hurts. And a children's choir really? It's a christmas song from 4 grandparents. The tune was already there. Maybe it turned out better if they had written a completely new song.

It's a christmas song from 4 grandparents. That’s the most puzzling part. Their children are in their 50s, and even grandchildren would be pushing it, if they’re meant to be “playing with their new toys”. I know songs are about acting out and playing characters, but I struggle with this one.

Frida does sound like a grandma in this song but is she supposed to be the mother of little kids? Really? Agnetha pulls if off with Keep an Eye on Dan. Frida doesn't.
I agree with Alan that it shouldn't really be on a studio album. And like ForeverFan I would have preferred an uptempo Christmas song.
Little Things imo is in the Top 5 Worst ABBA songs and probably the worst Christmas song ever - excluding novelty and charity songs.

Ok so it looks like I am the only one that likes this song? I think its very Swedish, I love the way it is sung and the music box style of the music.

^There's been plenty of times people have defended the song here so I don't know where you're getting the idea that nobody likes it. I'm not even its biggest fan and even I defend it.
It's worth remembering only a few people regularly post here and it's a microcosm of fans so just because one or two people here slate the song doesn't mean their opinion is sacrosanct. In the wider world plenty of people like it and I daresay its probably even a favourite with some.

i like "little things" but i hate the video. I classify LT along with I have a dream and Chiquitita. They are children's songs or "for children" songs. good melody, cute (maybe corny) lyrics but that's how children's songs are supposed to be anyway.

The Video was more of a disappointment for me also. l was expecting Abba to appear, but then we got the Children of the Dammed, or the Smarties kids, which was odd, and a little uncomfortable especially when a good part of the lyrics are painting a picture of a couple in bed, and at least two verses have sexual innuendo's.
When l heard the Song l knew it was not going to be a popular Song for the masses every Christmas. A good tune, like some of the lyrics. Its just disappointing, because Abba are really Popular over the Christmas Period. And they are capable of coming up with the goods if they wanted to with a uptempo Song
