How bizarre. I hope it's nothing to do with that bloody scammer who was here recently. I don't know who saw it but there were lengthy posts in a foreign language by a new member who thankfully has been deleted since.

Something isn’t right there. His last post got no negative reactions and several responded to it. I hope it hasn’t been deleted based on a previous request that he may since have re-considered, but has only been acted upon in the last 24 hours.

The Sun (GROAN!!!) reported that ABBA are secretly filming at a film studio at Ealing, West London, for hologram concert materials and are setting the release date for 2022 which they state coincides the 50th anniversary of ABBA.
As much as we Americans hate TMZ the same way the British people hate The Sun, the 50th anniversary claim makes it worth mentioning here; I've inferred that musicians working within the record label are always making something a bit more special when they hit that number. (Jimi Hendrix's Estate releasing the Maui concert and Gong releasing "Love From The Planet Gong" boxed set for example)
I'm beginning to think that Polar Music are not being slouches at it (I rescind my doubts and bitterness toward that company) and they're just doing the "perfect timing" in it on their own pace.

If we can believe The Sun, ( one of the UKs more “ make it up to sell Papers “ )🙄...
The article does mention the “ new material” to still be released next year 2021, and the “ show” which also mentions that all 4 members have flown to London to record a TV special interview on their history and will play the new 5 tracks , will be aired in 2022 ..
Now how much of the above is true and under current world circumstances, is another story.. I really can’t see any of them flying to London , socially distancing etc to record a show that won’t be aired until 2022...
Stranger things.....
Also mentions about ABBAtars being on tour! So not static in one city and everyone to travel to it....??
all the above has been mentioned in another UK paper.. Daily Mail... also of dubious standing for some !!
But hey, we never know, and there may be some truth in it all...
As always time will tell.....

I agree with the scepticism about the Sun's story. It doesn't seem likely to me that they would come to London, especially during coronavirus, to record something about an anniversary in 2022. Wonderful to read again, though, about there being five new songs, not just the two. So just a few more for their new and last great album then. I know Bjorn has ruled out such a thing, but what a wonderful 50th anniversary present for fans it would be! I still hope that it might happen. |

It’s possible Universal could have paid for a plane to fly them to London and back, just them and their entourages and that everything was socially-distanced with no risk to any of them whatsoever but, let’s face it, we’d really want an interview with them all sat together. Two metres apart it would be kind of like The Visitors album cover all over again. It’s also possible that they came over before the pandemic, and it’s only now been leaked. The only suggestion that it’s more recent is in the line “despite the travel restrictions” but that bit could be the lie. I’d like to think there’s some truth in it. In the times we’re in, it’s comforting to know that ABBA are, in a sense, back together again. |
