It was the fifth single to be released from their album RING RING, but unusually, it was not issued in ABBA's home-country of Sweden. The song was one of the last songs to be recorded for the album RING RING. The song describes the common PHENOMENON of a QUARREL between LOVERS, and although the song's title seems to be self-contradictory, it's unlikely that it pertains to a sexual DOUBLE ENTENDRE as some have believed it to be. BENNY and BJÖRN sharing the lead vocals. Written for the Swedish movie INGA'S II: THE SEDUCTION OF INGA, the song was recorded, most likely at Europa Film Studios. The song was originally released in March 1970 as the first BJÖRN and BENNY SINGLE. Two years later it was released in Japan, hitting #1 and selling half a million copies. Because of that Benny and Björn were invited to perform in the WORLD POPULAR SONG FESTIVAL in Tokyo, November 1972 and they brought FRIDA and AGNETHA with them. The song was subsequently put on the B-side of the Swedish issue of ABBA's "RING RING" (English Version) single, and on the Ring Ring album in some other countries (in spite of it having been recorded before ABBA was formed and featuring NO CONTRIBUTION from ABBA's other members, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad). This is Track No. #11 from the RING RING album, The song was composed by BENNY and BJÖRN and recorded on 1973. I AM JUST A GIRL was the B-side of 7" single LOVE ISN'T EASY. The song comes from the soundtrack of the Swedish film "TURE SVENTON - Private Investigator", for which Benny had written a song called "Jar är blott en man" (I am just a man). During the recording sessions for the album, it was given the English lyrics to be added to the album as track number. It was probably recorded in early 1973. The most curious thing is that Benny and Björn sing on this song. Agnetha provides some solo vocals on this track. I AM JUST A GIRL became a single in Sweden and Japan, earning good entries on some radio charts. This tiny simply-lovely BALLAD became one of ABBA's rarest and little-known songs. The video shows our two girls AGNETHA & FRIDA during their pre-abba days in various performances. It was a rock ballad, a LOVE DECLARATION for a beautiful, lonely girl inviting her to join, enjoy and dance with the band, instead the SADNESS and HOPELESS this is a beautiful world where the good music helps to feel better and restrain the pain. All accompained with a full fist of ELECTRIC GUITAR and POWER BASS that gives so much energy to the vocals of BENNY & BJÖRN. "Rock'n Roll Band" What's more, I dare say that this issue should be unknown to those who identify ABBA only by their classic hits. Regarding this good song, its style is a FAITHFUL REFLECTION of its title, that is, quite ROCK AND ROLL, and good, and also, it is a clear sample that from its beginnings, ABBA's music was characterized by its great VERSATILITY, being able to cover DIFFERENT STYLES, maintaining the essence of its sound. Its rhythm was quite moved and characteristic of the 70s. “ROCK ’N' ROLL BAND” was recorded at the first official recording session in Stockholm, Sweden, at that time as the group BJÖRN & BENNY, AGNETHA & ANNI-FRID. It was released as a single in the USA on March 26, 1973, after "People Need Love", although the album "RING RING" was never released in the USA - they would only do so in 1995. In the UK it was released as the B-side of the single "Ring Ring" in October 1973 and re-released in June 1974. And as far as their LIVE PERFORMANCE is concerned, the song was performed by the group on their shows in 1975 with FRIDA as the main voice, but it was left aside in their later tours, perhaps due to the fact that it was not the main single. ABBA, then known as BJÖRN & BENNY, AGNETHA & ANNI-FRID, performed the song at the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo, Japan in November 1972. On this occasion AGNETHA sung lead vocals alongside BJÖRN.
