I am an absolute sucker for this song (as shown in my ‘Top 40’ post).
I know a lot of people would sneer at it for being more than a little twee, but to me, a bangin’ good tune is a bangin’ good tune!
I really love a lot of ABBA’s 73/74 output; that late-60s/early 70s feel to the music (People Need Love being another wonderful example).
I take it there’s no performance of it anywhere? 😭

Just to add to this post, I particularly love Bjorn’s vocals on the opening chorus of the song. He absolutely goes for it.
A beautiful, beautiful sweet song.
Bonus fact: this is one of only two ABBA songs that Frida sings the word “football”. ⚽️⚽️

I have a real problem with Me and Bobby and Bobby’s Brother.
It should be Bobby, His Brother and I.
[Or …and Me. The jury is out on which is actually correct. And Bobby is a he, as the lyrics do confirm that].

Mixed feelings on this one for me.
Pros: + Frida's vocals are beautiful + The outro is nice + The second verse is humorous
Cons: - VERY awkward lyrics - Ho hum melody
One big pet peeve of mine is the fact they're meant to be 'the best of friends' but then 'Bobby's brother' doesn't even get a name! I'm gonna assume he was much older so maybe as kids she didn't think of him on first name terms but still...
That said, I'd take this song any day over the likes of Rock n Roll Band or I Saw It In The Mirror.

And Bobby is a he, as the lyrics do confirm that]. Indeed, the title is grammatically clunky but I always assumed that was deliberate because it’s written/sang in a child-like:reminiscent way hence the slightly jumbled order of who was involved in the story. But I love the song more for the tune and the arrangement (and the production) rather than the lyrics (even more so re its sister song, Suzy-Hang-Around). Bobby’s Brother, for me, has that sort of late-60s/American feel to it; not a million miles away from ‘Dedicated To The One I Love’.
