Bobby's Brother's latest video is about an alternate mix of Don't Shut Me Down

Of course there's nothing sacrosanct about a mix, and I can imagine that the final, released version of a track might sometimes stem from a feeling of "time to stop fiddling about with this any longer". I don't particularly like the string figurations in DSMD - not very pop-y, imo. So I wouldn't mind their removal in an alternative mix, with those figurations rephrased, perhaps on a keyboard instead,
But I think fans, generally, want to stay with the mix they've got used to. I believe Richard Carpenter got quite a bit of backlash from Carpenters fans when he had temerity to remix some of their recordings a few years ago.

I saw the post on Insta and didn't click through to listen to the snippets. I thought the bungled logo was odd though - complete with a trademark symbol. Makes you wonder who is running their socials and, more importantly, what they have access to. Based on the description of the mix, it makes sense to me that it could be the track that the live band plays against. Unless someone is going around with random early mixes on their phone? Can't imagine that wouldn't cause a little back office scolding. I kinda like the string arrangement, richard . It's got a very early 1960s feel - a bit like the theme to the Miss Marple TV show (the Margaret Rutherford version). It's very jaunty and underscores the optimism of the song.
