Have just returned to ABBAChat after a couple of years AWOL. (I was also a member of ABBA4Ever, way back in the day, using the handle 'abbarry'). I thought you might like to know that I've been working on a book about ABBA and it finally came out earlier this month. It's a co-write with an old friend and former musical collaborator of mine, and basically comprises our personal ABBA 'stories' as well as our extremely inexpert and unreliable 'takes' on the band's output (albums, individual songs, videos, movies, TV appearances etc) - plus a bit of ABBA-related chat and other stuff. One for the committed fan, I'd say, rather than the casual purchaser of 'Gold' - but it is what it is, as the tiresome saying goes. I've encouraged Freddie to join the forum, too - hopefully he'll take the plunge soon. A real rite of passage - our first disappointing review on Amazon! A vote from the German jury. Never mind - as long as a few people get some enjoyment from it, and maybe derive a smile of recognition regarding the travails of the average ABBA fan, I think we'll be content. If anyone on ABBAChat has taken the plunge, we'd love a bit of feedback - don't hold it in, we can take it!  |

Phew - got a good rating from what appears to be an Aussie fan.
In our A-Z review of ABBA songs, we deliberately didn't include Ah, Vilka Tider or indeed non-English versions of various songs such as ATAT, as we were very much looking at things from a UK fan's perspective. Still can't make up my mind whether or not we did the right thing.

That's a fine rating; unfortunately there's no review attached! (Also, ozpop22 has left no other feedback anywhere else, making it impossible to get any sort of handle on what their idea of 'wonderful' might be.) The response from Kiwi is less encouraging (and not that much more expansive than ozpop's), but is more useful as guidance.
