someone has to start it....
Well its rapidly drawing upon us and quite a few countries have chosen artists and songs already. For those who don't know the UK is represented by Olly Alexander with Dizzy, a 20 second clip has been released today, from what you can hear it's not to bad, but we say that every year..lol full release is 1st March..
current favourites are Ukraine, personally not great, but will get the votes for obvious reasons..
Ive a soft spot for Italy and they are in the process of choosing their entry at the San Remo festival.. my favourite is the following and if chosen could do very well at Malmo....

Not sure Ukraine will do well. They won 2 years ago when war started but people appear not bothered about the war there now.

Croatia is firm favourite to win, with the UK and Sweden way down the pecking order....

Little Hint ?
Just mentioned on Lorraine ! ( UK to show ) .. One of the EBU representatives, mentioned that they will be celebrating ABBA ( of course , stupid if they weren't)... and they would be showing something on TV that hasn't ever been seen before..... Voyage? New clip ....
Only a few days to go....
Croatia still favourite, but Switzerland favourite in the odds....UK... as per usual.. no where.......

Let's hope it's as exciting as the recent revelations on Radio 2 🤣

It'll be a different angle of the 1974 contest from San Marino TV..lol So far it's been underwhelming to say the least.. about time they ( the media/ publicity team ) pulled something of interest out of the bag...

If it's just 30 seconds of rehearsal footage for the Eurovision Waterloo performance I'll throw a brick through my TV.

Yesterday, I watched the Video of Olly Alexander's UK ESC Entry - 'Dizzy'.
Unfortunately, it is not as good as Tommy Roe's 1969 'Dizzy - a Global No.1.
A).. Let us not pretend that Olly can Sing. His voice is all over the place.
B).. The 'Song' is truly dreadful too.
C).. The UK may only fail to be in the bottom 5, if a lot of the other Entries are just as bad - or worse. But can they be? Ours is rather rubbish.
D).. Today I saw a UK 'Commentator' say that we'd be: 'Lucky to come last', as the 'Song', 'Singer', and 'Performance' are so awful.
E)... Apparently, a lot of People like the Croatian Entry. I listened to it, and it was still garbage, but better than the UK Entry. It is 'Rim Tim Tagi Dim', by Baby Lasagna. Heavily Rap and Hip Hop Based. Hardly any Melody, of course. If it wins, he and it will be forgotten in a Year. Just like almost every Winner, of the Contest, these Days.
It looks like any ABBA 'Tribute', will far surpass the 2024 Entries. Why not? ABBA can out last and outshine, rubbish like that, in any Year!!!

What about the ABBA post on tik tok? Where they show ABBA peering through the leaves in the 74 preview with a voice over saying “we’re back! Did you miss us? Coz we missed you!” Is this a teaser??

I'm just really hoping it's not some tribute act of various artists.. let's be honest it's been done to death, it would only be saved by a wave and bow live on stage by the group...
Alternatively.. a video link and them presenting Swedens scores......
Of course the ultimate would be a Voyage production and them walking out to say goodbye... I'd be in tears....
We will see soon enough.....

I was thinking (hoping) of Abba standing round a piano, raising up from under the stage, doing a slow acoustic number, wearing the white Voyage encore outfits, just a verse and a chorus, maybe LAYLOM, then it launches into the Abbatars

🙄🙄🙄 If a naff tribute act is performing ABBA, there's less chance of something more exciting happening, ABBA-wise. We'll see..

Oh dear. Is this really the best they can do?
No one seems the least bit bothered about this anniversary, aside from the producers of Against The Odds. The brief seems to be: let’s keep ABBA naff and camp.
And ABBA are apparently happy with this. I doubt Benny really is, but he’s allowed it to happen (Björn, I fear, would just sell out ABBA to anyone that asked - I certainly wouldn’t bet against him appearing tomorrow night).
Then again, I wouldn’t want them associated with Eurovision anyway. Let’s not forget they only did it in the first place in order to pick up a wider audience - a strategy that clearly worked.
The divide between what the hardcore, serious fans want and the general perception of what ABBA is - at least to the lowest common denominator - just gets wider and wider.

Just noticed the Official ABBA Fan Club have spelt “Conchita” incorrectly in bjorenny’s link - was that a Freudian slip, I wonder?
