It is a bit sad perhaps but it needs to be put into perspective. For 22 years from 1986, the four of them weren’t seen/pictured together in public at all. Even when they were (the Mamma Mia premiere in 2008) they were on the same photo but not stood together. We had to wait until 2016 (30 years on from the This Is Your Life appearance) to see just them pictured together again.
Many bands don’t make it to a public reunion. The Beatles didn’t, and plenty of others.
Also, there was no guarantee they’d get this award, in which case the Voyage premiere would have been the last time.
Never say never, but if they don’t appear in public together again, it’s their own choosing.

Obviously merge if subject already has thread, but couldn't find, but that's no surprise .....
Podcast with Glyes Brandbreth , called Rosebud, has 1 hour interview with Bjorn. In Bridlington, ( of all places) , there's not a lot that many of us doesn't already know But I found interesting and funny.. especially the bit about Biden.... you need to listen..... sorry im hopeless at downloading so if some wishes to......

I've just finished listening and I too found it entertaining, even if some stories are already well known to superfans. It was interesting to hear him say that the verse and chorus of Mamma Mia were written at separate times and merged together at a later date. I knew that that happened in their writing but it was good to hear him name one of the songs (especially as they sound like they were created at the same time as one seamless piece of catchy genius). The other thing that stood out was how sharp some of Björn's memories are as, unless they were well researched and rehearsed, he himself has mentioned that his long-term memory is nowhere near what it was.

I have to say that I had completely underestimated Giles Brandreth's abilities as an interviewer. He headed into the past in an altogether more personal and human way than most others. I'd be quite enthusiastic about the possibility of him cornering the other three, individually, and winkling some stories out of them. That thing that Frida said to Bjorn was quite moving: that the event at the Royal Palace was probably the last time the four of them would be seen publicly together again... And it underscores the idea that ABBA won't do anything else together. I found the interview on Spotify. Here's the link: open.spotify.com/show/01EutcfPcZCqAfD7s7puJL?si=4581c25dc583483d

The BBC had an opportunity to show ABBA receiving The Royal Vasa Award in Sweden on 31/05/2024 but instead shunned it. Very sad as I think it is the last time we will see ABBA together in public. I don't understand the BBC's omission or couldn't be bothered attitude more like. Yet coverages of Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Celine Dion are shown.

Taylor Swift was because of her recent/current tour. Not sure what Beyoncé and Celine Dion coverage you’re referring to but as I’ve said before, there was nothing UK-related about ABBA getting this award.
It seems like it’s open-season on attacking the BBC and anyone seems to find any stick to beat them with (I’m talking generally, not specifically this forum). They’ve been extremely supportive of ABBA in the past and were involved in the recent “Against The Odds” documentary. In any case, other broadcasters did cover it so there was no real need for the BBC to.
The BBC is a major contributor to the EBU’s funds, so perhaps ABBA’s apparent snub of Eurovision this year didn’t help. And it was a snub. We’d have expected Björn to appear if nothing else, as he never seems to miss a media opportunity!

IMO ABBA intended to appear on this year’s Eurovision but all the controversy regarding Israel’s participation halted the plans.

Yes - I am inclined to agree that is probably what happened.

I don't think so. Right after Eurovision 2023 speculation began about ABBA reuniting for the occasion but Benny immediately stated he didn't want to appear there.
