An interesting article in Aftonbladet, about Agnetha and Frida stoping their carreers and dedicating to their private lives.

Agnetha and Frida leave
Now they will devote themselves entirely to their private lives
■ ■ ■ Agnetha Fältskog 35 and Frida Lyngstad 40 stop working
■ ■ ■ At the moment, no records or films are planned for the two ABBA girls
■ ■ ■ Agnetha mainly devotes herself to her son Christian's first school year and Frida commutes between her flat in Switzerland and her house in Mallorca.
Görel Hanser at Frida's record company Polar tells Aftonbladet
- Frida has had her great success and has had her career. Now she does other things than deal with music.
- things that she hasn't had time for during the 20 years she has been an artist.
• What does she do?
- There are things of a more private nature that I don't want to comment on.
Frida's first solo LP after ABBA - "There's something going on” - sold a million copies, It was produced by Phil Collins.
Her second own album "Shine" came out just over a year ago. It was appreciated by the critics but only sold 225,000 copies - of which 65,000 in Sweden. Frida was thus back as an artist of more Scandinavian dimensions.
- I think that "Shine” was ahead of its time, but for Frida it was more important to make that type of record than one that would be guaranteed to sell, says Görel Hanser. She also rejects the idea that it was the sales failure of "Shine" behind Frida's self-imposed idleness. But I don't think she'll quit music entirely, If you've been an artist for so long, you don't suddenly completely cut ties with that life.
Agnetha Fältskog now lives in her villa on Lidingö.
- It was decided long ago that Agnetha would be off for a year now. She wants to take it easy when her and Björn's son Christian started school last fall, says Marie Anderson / Ledin at Agnetha's record company.
Agnetha's first own LP after the ABBA years - "Wrap your arms around me" - came out two years ago. It sold 1.2 million copies. The second LP "Eyes of a woman" which came out last spring, however, only sold 300,000 - of which at least half in Scandinavia. Also Agnetha was thus an artist primarily for the national market,
- It is a fairly common phenomenon that second solo LPs from an established artist are not as great a success. The attention is so great at the first LP. But with the right album and the right songs, I think Agnetha has a great chance to come back on the foreign market, says Marie Anderson / Ledin
- Even if nothing is decided about songs and producer, I think Agnetha will make another album, although I don't know when.
Nothing new about Agnetha's continued film career has come to light either. After "Raskenstam" there are some discussions.
