I was checking pictures of ABBA working on recording studio and there are two photo sessions that show how different was ABBA at their peak and after the divorces. There are two photo shootings by photographer Oscar Abolafia (Abolafia, an American photographer, photographed the rich and famous including the Kennedy family, Andy Warhol, Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Jack Nicholson, Linda Blair, Audrey Hepburn, and Elvis Presley), one was late summer of 1977 , ABBA recording The Album, the other one was in May of 1981, ABBA recording The Visitors.

What a treasure trove! Thanks for posting those, @marco .
Documentary photos can often be less than flattering, but ABBA look amazing here. The girls - devoid of makeup - look sensational. There's a fair number I haven't seen before, but I recognise some of the 1981 shots from an article in one of the British tabloids (which was the first mention of a song called An Angel Is Walking Through My Room [sic]).

The first time that shots from may 1981 were published was in the UK Daily Mirror, on May, 18 and 19 of 1981, that is why I know the photo shooting was before May, 18. The Daily Mirror published 5 shots from that photo shooting

Thank you so much, Marco! It's great to also know what they were working on when this 1977 set of pictures was taken. A wonderfully rich, classic album was being created at the time. It's great seeing ABBA so close to the time those nine songs were being crafted - and this only four or five months after a hugely successful European and Australian tour. How dedicated they were to building onto their work and moving in new directions when they could have just as easily rested on their laurels!
