Hey fellow ABBA fans! Me and my friend Matt usually host a Beach Boys podcast together on YouTube, but we thought it would be fun to try something a little different and do an episode on another one of my all time favorite bands, ABBA! In this video, we rank and discuss the group’s 9 studio albums from our least favorite to our favorite, and share our thoughts and opinions on each of them. At the end of our ranking, we also do our own “Greatest Hits” draft where we each select 10 songs that we feel best represent the ABBA discography. We hope you all enjoy the video and we’d love to hear your comments and feedback!

Hi Jake,
I come to Abbachat almost everyday because it is one of my bookmarked sites and I am a news addict who uses tabs to open 20 sites at a time to scan for what's going on. However, I rarely comment due to being busy at work and not having much original comments to make. However I have to thank you for your video.
I'm 60 this year and a huge Abba fan since I was eleven years old in 1975. I just watched the whole video and I want to say a big thank you for the energy and enthusiasm you put into your Album rankings with your friend Matt. Your opinions are refreshing to listen to and I like the fact that you discuss the topic with your friend rather than just monologuing to the camera. Like you, I love songs like Dum Dum Diddle despite the silly lyrics and you also mentioned big faves of mine like Soldiers, and Agnetha's Man.
Take care, Martin in Tokyo

Hi Jake, I just watched the whole video and I want to say a big thank you for the energy and enthusiasm you put into your Album rankings with your friend Matt. Your opinions are refreshing to listen to. I agree. It was a pleasure to watch and to sense a true appreciation for songs with which we older fans might have become too familiar after 50 years. It was wonderful and interesting hearing Jake and Matt's views, coming from a new generation of listeners, assessing ABBA with new ears. Nice job!

mjc, jj, Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it! And it’s cool to hear from the perspective of older fans who have known ABBA’s music for decades; the fact that we can share the same level of love and appreciation for the group despite being generations apart really shows how timeless ABBA’s songs and albums are! Thanks again for watching and for the kind words!

Very well done , fascinating to hear a different and yes same perspective on new and old fans thoughts ... I'd probably find it hard to comment on every track......
You did miss out commenting on a few which would be interesting to hear what you think ...
Medley Lovelight Cassandra, You Owe Me One Should I Laugh Or Cry Dream world I am The City Put On Your White Sombrero, And of course the Abba holy grail ... Just Like That...
Another albums worth ..lol.. There may be more I can't think of.
Otherwise a really great job... thank you so much.."

It's interesting to hear other people's ABBA perspectives. A few *eye rolls* moments with individual likes eg Disillusion, King Kong Song, That's Me . No surprise overall though in the rankings. The first 3 albums, expectedly near the bottom - along with Voyage. That album was dismissed by one contributor as "sleepy", yes, that is a good description. The ballads in particularbare forgettable.
The both put The Album at #5 disagreed about ranking order in Top 4 from Arrival, Voulez Vous, Super Trouper and The Visitors.
I agree with comments about Super Trouper (song) having a stronger verse than chorus and LAYLOM having a hymn luke quality.
Some lazy comments such as the Voulez Vous album being disco and references to The Visitors (song) about Soviet dissidents. Seriously if you didn't know, yiu wouldn't. Sure, sone fugitive or someone awaiting a mental health asylum.
It would have been interesting if new fans gave an over-view without knowing any facts, figures, or perceived truths.

johnny, I’m sorry I’m not supposed to have some background knowledge about one of my favorite groups and not want to learn more about their history. Anyway, Voulez-Vous absolutely is the groups most “disco sounding” album (disco, euro disco, whatever you want to call it but a good chunk of the album is, and that’s not a bad thing either) and the Visitors has been officially stated as being about the persecution of political dissidents in the Soviet Union. Neither of those facts impact my enjoyment of the music; they are just things that I felt were worth mentioning to newer listeners who aren’t as familiar with ABBA’s catalog and history.

First, it was unnecessary to repost my entire post. Second, your YouTube piece was quite lengthy, perhaps a thanks for people taking the time to listen and respond.
Sure, you know about about ABBA now. But your video was a missed opportunity of a newbie ABBA fan giving a fresh opinion - without any baggage. Maybe your friend, less knowlegeable would have a more interesting perspective.
You did fall back on clichés and hearsay and offered nothing fresh. It was just another opinion piece that dragged on for 71 minutes.
Have a nice day.

First, it was unnecessary to repost my entire post. Good point, I’ve deleted the quote. As your post was directly above theirs it wasn’t necessary, so I’ve instead just added your username to the post.
