^^^^ Good job they didn't lean on the handrail of that Melbourne balcony to hard. Notice the missing chunk of masonry from the corner below Bjorn?

Fafner, do you happen to know who the musicians are behind the ABBA members in the first picture you posted on this page? I'm curious as to who they are.

Fafner, do you happen to know who the musicians are behind the ABBA members in the first picture you posted on this page? I'm curious as to who they are. In the middle it's clearly the recently deceased Rutger Gunnarsson (bass), but I don't know about the rest - probably their regular supporting musicians, like Ola Brunkert on the drums, but I don't remember what he looks like to say for certain. Edit: after some searching, I found out that the guy on the right is Lasse Wellander. He also appeared in the 79 concerts for example, like in www.getabba.com/abbagallery/images1/abba/concert_frida_lies_on_stage.jpg

Yep, Ola Brunkert on drums, Rutger (Bass) and Lasse Wellander (Guitar) on the right. Probably the three most regular members of their backing band,

Love Frida's look here. She's devouring the lense.

I've always loved this session. They all look great here.

I must admit that I've never really liked the results of this session. They all look a bit tacky – not least in comparison to the iconic ABBA-pictures taken by Ola Lager, Barry Levine and the like. I remember that the German pop-magazine BRAVO made lots of promotion for their exclusive session with ABBA in 1978. I was disappointed from the moment I saw the pics but have to admit that they did a good job for ABBA's popularity. Maybe just because they were so tacky ...

I don't have the background with the actual release of these photos. But just speaking on personal taste I don't love them either. The guys are fine but the ladies are a little too dressed down. I don't know what that is on Frida's head. They look a bit unprepared, considering there are photos on this site that are not studio shots where they look quite lovely as well as comfortable. abbachat.com/post/1956abbachat.com/post/2378abbachat.com/post/2562

I agree that they look a bit weird in those clothes, especially Frida, and I don't like the colors, but the girls still look pretty so I don't really mind...

I absolutely LOVE that photo, Fafner. While they don't look like the shiniest of popstars, it's one of the few from 1981 where they don't look utterly jaded. Frida, in particular, looks terrific here.
