I'm not up on their non abba stuff can someone give me a quick run down of the best English tracks? R Benny Andersson's Orchestra recently achieved a new record in Sweden by staying on the Swedish chart for 243 weeks with the song "Du är min man" ("You Are My Man"), sung by Helen Sjöholm. I think she did an English version as well. Maybe someone can post a link? |

Here's a lovely Swedish version from the "People's Park" traditional get-together/sing-together. Benny always liked to play those gigs, and this song is perfect for it, I think. Can't wait Roxy to get the Chess clips remastered finally on DVD hoping sometime in the future we will get some clips on DVD from Kristina as well

Not showing favourites here, but here is Helen Sjöholm singing 'You Have To Be There' ... Benny and Björn held auditions to find local Kristinas for the London and New York productions of the musical, but ended up calling Helen, so I think they’d be with you on that, Roxy. Not before they took it to Finland, did they find another Kristina – Maria Ylipää. She polished her Swedish for the show and did an excellent version of “You Have To Be There”. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CfjxZ9JQjQ)  So, for this thread, perhaps you could say that Helen and Maria are the post ABBA girls.  |
