I've noticed that ABBAchatters often miss the accent off Björn's name, and wondered if this might be because not everyone knows how to get it to work? Of course, it might be that we are all just too busy or lazy, in which case please ignore this thread Anyway, to get the 'ö' you need to hold down the 'Alt' key and then type '0246' on the numeric keypad. With laptops this typically requires first holding down the 'Fn' (function) button and pressing the 'NumLk' button, then hold down the 'Alt' while typing the '0246' using the numbers that are on the letter keys (M=0, J=1 etc.) rather than the numbers along the top line of the keyboard. Then release the 'Alt' key and the ö will appear. Remember to choose 'Fn' + 'NumLk' again straight after, to cancel the num lock, or you will start typing gobbledegook. It is a bit fiddly at first tbh Alternatively, just highlight and copy the Björn in this thread, then paste it into your post

I never saw this thread until now. Thanks for explaining how to do that, Martin. I used to use a Mac, and I knew how to do that on a Mac, but I didn't know how to do that on a PC. I also don't know how to get a tilde on a PC. For anyone who doesn't know what a tilde is, it is the thing that is supposed to appear above the first "n" in Hasta Manana.

~ is as per instructions above but instead of Alt + 0246 it's Alt + 126, while ñ is Alt + 164

Thanks, Martin. I should've been more clear about what I meant. I was wondering how to get ñ, and now I know.
