Lately I don't get individual emails when threads that I have bookmarked are updated. Instead I get one email every few days that tells me "You Have Updated Threads" and only specifies one thread within the body of the email. When I look, I see several of my threads have had updates for days and I didn't know about it. Was this changed for a reason? I can live with it of course but I preferred it when I got an email each time a bookmarked thread was updated.

Do you use the 'recent posts' link? I ask cos I only discovered it myself a couple of months back. So now I can just look through the posts till I come to one I remember having already seen, and then I know I've caught up with everything.

I do, Martin and I find that helpful as well. But I used to get individual emails to let me know when activity was going on with threads that I bookmarked. I no longer do. For example, the "My Abba Collection" thread has been buzzing today and I haven't gotten one email notification about it. I've happened to check the boards a few times today but some days I don't have time to, but I will if I know they are active.

I"m surprised to hear that you were getting any notifications to your mail, because I never got any, except when somebody is directly quoting me. The way I keep up with the updates is, beside the 'recently updated' section that shoshin mentioned, you have a small window at the upper right corner that displays alerts whenever somebody posts in threads that you are participating in, which is pretty useful. Also I'm getting alerts in the massage box whenever I receive a like.

Do you mean the 'participated" box in the upper right, Fafner? I've actually never noticed it before. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks. I was getting emails to threads that I had bookmarked, as well as when I was quoted or liked.

When there's a new post, it says 'new', or something like that (and same with the 'recently updated' section). And btw, here's the link where you can track all the new posts - abbachat.com/threads/recent

Thanks. Good to know. Guess I'll just make a point of checking the forum on my own a few times a day.

I didn't know about getting emails about updates before reading this thread - I think I need to get those. I am not sure why your updates became less frequent Damian - I haven't changed any settings. I will have a look into that.

Well, I had a look, and I still don't know how to get email updates even after bookmarking a thread. I did create this forum, but I am still learning .....

If you go into 'Profile' then 'Edit Profile', then 'Notifications', there is an Email drop down box for each event, allowing you to choose Never/Daily/Weekly/Instant/Smart

And mine somehow changed to smart. I fixed it. Thanks Martin. And thanks Roxanne for looking into this.
