When replying to a lengthy post using Quote, especially one that contains large pictures and/or YouTube links, the result can swamp a thread with repeated information. As a result, the pages will load more slowly on older PCs and mobiles, and it will be more difficult to follow the course of a thread discussion. I wondered if it may be worth trying to follow guidelines when quoting? My own suggestions would be:
1) If it's a very simple 'I agree' reply, would a 'like' against the original post be sufficient?
2) If responding specifically to the most recent post (as opposed to the thread discussion in general), then as an alternative to quoting you can just start your post by pointing above like this:
^^ I completely agree etc
3) If the quoted post is lengthy, consider removing text that isn't related to your reply. Acknowledge that you have done this by replacing the deletions with an ellipsis (...), so that you aren't appearing to deliberately change meaning. Try, without distorting text that you do not omit, to turn the edited results into readable sentences in themselves eg:
If the quoted post is lengthy...turn the results into readable sentences...
4) If your reply makes sense without some or all of the images and/or video links that may be in a quote, consider removing them.
5) If you do need to keep an image in order to make your point, then consider reducing its size if it is large. You can do this by switching from the 'Preview' to the 'BBCode' tab. Find the image code that says 'max-width:100%' and change it to a lower figure, maybe 10-20%.
6) If you do need to keep a video link, consider replacing it with a normal link, so that it just appears as text rather than looking like a large screenshot. You can do this in the 'BBCode' tab by copying the web link between the <video> tags that you will be removing, then pasting it into a normal link, like this:
