Today, this ABBA News has been put on The Official UK Chart Company's Site. (The OCC Site). Jack White is relatively 'new' there. With this 'Exhibition', the ABBA 'Hologram'(?) Show, due in 2018, and July 2018's 'Mamma Mia - Here I Go Again' Film, it is obvious that several Countries are going to have yet another big 'ABBA Revival' during the next 18 Months - and beyond. With the UK - as always - being one of the most enthusiastic. 'ABBA Gold' has not been in the UK Top 100 for 2 Weeks, but in today's Mid Week Chart, it is back in at No.44 - due mainly to UK Sales of the Gold coloured double Vinyl Album. That is for UK Sales from Friday to Sunday - inclusive.....('ABBA Gold' had a Global & European iTunes 'Revival' in June. It reached No.11 in the World's iTunes Albums and No.7 in Europe's iTunes Albums). www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/an-abba-exhibition-called-super-troupers-is-coming-to-london-later-this-year__19561/ An ABBA exhibition called Super Troupers is coming to London later this year
"We are so excited that the exhibition is just a few short steps away from Waterloo.” By Jack White
Get your platform boots at the ready! A new ABBA exhibition is coming to London later this year. Taking place at the Southbank Centre from December 14, 2017 to April 29, 2018, Super Troupers will walk fans through various eras of ABBA's career, recreating iconic places in the Swedish band's very famous history. Each exhibit space will feature actual artefacts and momentos used by ABBA's Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha and Frida, many of which are borrowed from the ABBA museum in Stockholm. The night that they won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 will be recreated, as will their Brighton Grand hotel suite that they stayed in. A 70s disco and ABBA's recording studio will act as other areas in the exhibition to tell the band's story, while unseen sketches, iconic costumes and instruments will bring fans closer to ABBA than ever before. “We recorded Mamma Mia in 1975. What happened that year in the UK and in the world? One thing is for certain – it seems unbelievably long ago!” This news follows an announcement made last year that a virtual reality "digital experience" featuring the band will debut this year. Whether or not the two will tie-in together is currently unknown. Later this summer, brand new vinyl reissues of solo ABBA albums will be released, all with brand new coloured discs for a limited period. NOTE - ABBA had 25 UK Top 40 Singles, not 26. The OCC counts 'Dancing Queen' twice, as it thinks that
it was a Remix, that reached No.16, in 1992. In fact, it was just the 1976 version again. So, you should
only count it as 1 UK Top 40 Hit - not 2. (The OCC does accept, that when 'Waterloo' reached No.20, in
2004, it was the same as the 1974 original, so they only count 'Waterloo' as 1 ABBA UK Top 40 Hit).

I guess this will be very much like the Earl Court Exhibition a few years ago.
For those who haven't been to the Stockholm Exhibition or the above, it's well worth going to..
an interesting year ahead...

According to 'The Sun On Sunday', (UK 'Newspaper'), Agnetha & Benny knew nothing about the forthcoming London 'Exhibition', until they read about it - and neither like the idea. LINK: goo.gl/kKwgV3Apparently, only Frida & Bjorn are keen on the idea. However, the organizers of the 'Exhibition' say that all 4 ABBA Members are enthusiastic about it. 'The Sun On Sunday' also thinks, (like many others), that ABBA plan to reform in 2018. They have misunderstood the idea about the ABBA 'Hologram'//'Technological Innovation', (whatever it is), & think that it means we will see the 4 Human Beings, from ABBA, on Tour again. ABBA said no such thing & this is what happens when the Media get silly ideas into their 'heads'..... In the meantime, Michael Hann, of 'The Guardian', has done an Article about the ABBA 'Exhibition'. He says that it is be about how ABBA cheered Britain up in the 1970's, when everything seemed so dull & gloomy. Such a claim just sets ABBA up for criticism - by the many people who dislike them. As can be seen in several of the 471 Readers Comments, beneath the Article. LINK: goo.gl/VLqsFf

Speaking as an American, I think it's nice that there's an exhibition that focuses on ABBA's impact of the United Kingdom (The Swedish Invasion). I never knew ABBA played a part in Britain's economy until now (through an appetizer sentence on their Southbank Centre's website) www.southbankcentre.co.uk/whats-on/123377-abba-super-troupers-201718Well, at least Frida likes the idea of it, considering that there's no surprise that she happens to be one of the most interactive members of ABBA when in businesses (I think there should be a separate thread about Frida's business doings!); Benny is beginning to sound a bit childish when he said "Because I’m not." as a response to a question about why he's not enthusiastic; it made me consider him a bit of my least favourite member because of that, or that may be just me reading tabloid journalism at work from The Sun.. If Polar Music decides that ABBA should have its own exhibition in the USA (supposedly in the right time), it better be New York, since their distributor Atlantic Records was once located at Rockefeller Plaza... (but the USA exhibition can be located at whatever building they can come up with) LOL

It has been announced that the 'Narrator' of the ABBA Exhibition will be Jarvis Cocker - formerly the lead singer of Pulp - a UK 'Brit Pop' Band. The Exhibition is at London's Southbank Centre from Thursday 14th December 2017 to Sunday April 29th 2018. I might try to pop along to this at some point. Although I did go to ABBA WORLD at Earl's court back in 2004 so I'm not sure what will be new.
If ABBA aren't careful, what with the new Mamma Mia film in the pipeline and the Mamma Mia the Party fiasco, there will be a backlash. People can get sick of something. Even so, it's probably unlikely and I'm kinda looking forward to that virtual tour as much as the next person. I just hope I'm not disappointed.
