Hey, you have a section for musicals here, and nobody ever posted about Kristina från Duvemåla? Then it is about time! One of the best musicals ever created. Just watch this, and you can see and hear what I am talking about… Hemma from Kristina… Helen Sjöholm at her best. She is really special… See the reactions of the people around her…

I am going from the end to the beginning – here is Duvemåla hage from Allsang på Skansen 2000. A very special version of that song with a distinctive different approach. So nice!

This version of Du Måste Finnas is one of the best. The Minnesota concerts must have been great and it's a pity they were not filmed in their entirety. I like especially the reaction of the lady from the choir, who stands behind Helen. It looks like she can't believe how good Helen actually is.

Exactly! One of the comments on the Youtube Clip (but without the subtitles) said that it could be the best clip in the whole internet...
Or watch that Hemma and see the people there.

Helen is really great. I've attended the concert version of the English version of Kristina in London in 2010 and she performed it brilliantly and with such a passion that when she finished You Have To Be There, one half of the audience was fighting tears and the other half cried quite openly... A magic moment indeed and the best concert in my whole life!

If anyone is interested in a newly staged production of Kristina needs to visit Germany in 2025:
Kristina will have it's German premiere in 2025 at the Theater Koblenz.
As a teaser, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Koblenz played excerpts from the musical during their New Year Concert this year.

You're in for a treat. I saw the concert version in the Royal Albert Hall many years ago and it was sublime. Such beautiful music.

^ Hello HOMETIME, well, I'm a bit scared actually. German state Theater productions can work... But I've seen the original productions in Malmö and Stockholm and the Helsinki production as well and I don't think they will reach the quality of those stagings, but we'll see...

I had no idea they traslated it to German. I'm tempted, even if it is a 10hrs journey by train. I saw the concert version at the Royal Albert Hall and it was one of the best musical experiences of my life.

I had no idea they traslated it to German Hi Michal, well, the translation is new and it will be done by a German author, I hope it will sound good... Premiere will be in November 2025, so we have time to consider...
