The musician and composer Benny Andersson releases a new solo album. He makes new piano versions, among other things, of songs from the Abba era and the musicals "Chess" and "Kristina from Duvemåla".
The album, titled "Benny Andersson - Piano", is scheduled to be released in the fall by German record company Deutsche Grammophon. The songs are not newly written but taken from Andersson's earlier career.
22 songs are featured on the album, including new versions of Abba's "Thank You For The Music", "Flickornas rum" from the album "Oh klang och jubeltid" and "Chess", the title song of the same-name musical.
"Benny wrote all his songs at the piano. Now his next album is finished and it's closely related to his piano", as can be read in a post on Abbas Facebook page.
I coud imagine that it is in fact a Mono Music release distributed by Universal (=Deutsche Grammophon) as this seems to be an international release and maybe Mono Music just handles Swedish releases and/or cannot provide the infrastructure to release it all around the globe at the same time.
