What songs did Agnetha cover?
From the empty void in space and time (my brain):- The Heat Is On (Noosha Fox) Take Good Care of Your Children (Tomas Ledin - though I've never heard this version before) My Colouring Book, If I Thought You'd ever change Your Mind, Walk In The Room
Anymore?

There are quite some examples on DHA ... I'll see if I can post them here ... Time, time, time, the older you get the less of it you have

There are loads of them. My favourite would be Sometimes When I'm Dreaming, originally recorded by Art Garfunkel. It must be pretty frustrating for Mike Batt to have written such a sublime composition and still be better known for Remember You're a Womble.
How about Sov Gott Min Lilla Van, a cover with a twist since Agnetha also wrote the Swedish lyrics for it.
Another interesting one is En sång om sorg och glädje, a cover of Middle of the Road's Union Silver. Middle of the Road had number one records in Sweden before ABBA had even settled on a name, and clearly (I would argue) influenced ABBA's early musical direction and style. Indeed, there's a touch of Fernando about the intro to Union Silver.

Fact correction: I Don’t Know How to Love Him was originally recorded by (the now disgraced) Yvonne Elliman in 1970, erwin . Though, Agnetha comes across as more vocally compelling than the earlier did.

There are quite many, besides the "cover album" My Colouring Book she recorded many covers during her early days. Many of them were mentioned already, but two of my favourites were not - Som Ett Eko and Vi Har Hunnit Fram Till Refrängen.

By the way, is it necessary to embed all those YouTube videos? The threads like this take ages to load then. Links would be sufficient in my opinion...

Is Take Good Care Of Your Children really a cover? I think it was written by Tomas Ledin especially for Agnetha and was never recorded by Ledin himself...

Tomas has released his own version of "Take Good Care Of Your Children", but released after Agnethas version.

I only found this out like a month ago or so. A 12" extended version was released in South Africa.

Tomas has released his own version of "Take Good Care Of Your Children", but released after Agnethas version. So actually rather his version is a cover, not the other way round No, seriously, íIn such case I guess neither version can be called a cover. It's the same with Bang-A-Boomerang or Fernando - we can hardly call them covers, even if they were released by somebody else originally, can we?

This is the Wikipedia entry about cover versions: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_versionNote the first sentence. As Benny and Bjorn were the composers of Fernando and Bang-A-Boomerang, the ABBA versions can’t be considered cover versions.

(the now disgraced) Yvonne Elliman What do you mean about Yvonne Elliman being disgraced? I assume Agnetha's version of Wrap Your Arms Around Me is a cover. I know it was recorded by another singer, because someone posted a link to it on this forum some time ago. I haven't heard the other versions of The Heat Is On and Take Good Care Of Your Children. I'll have to see if they're on YouTube.

I know it was recorded by another singer, because someone posted a link to it on this forum some time ago. Yvonne Elliman was recently arrested for possession of drugs: weed and meth at Guam, first of all. But let’s not bring that into a big detail. That ought to be in a JCSS forum, not here. Most stars have their personal problems, ranging from basic convenience store habits (Agnetha, a smoker in her darkest days until 1984, and Benny, a former alcoholic) to drug overdoses. Typically it’s best to keep that situation out from their works; but being a recent contemporary news, it’s quite relevant to subtly mention it. I, too, was shocked when I read the news about it. If anything, I was only correcting Erwin that Elliman was the first to record "I Don't Know How To Love Him" back in 1970 on the Jesus Christ Superstar concept album, not to deliberately exploit her to the max. Moving on; Hmm... I've never heard of the claim that "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" isn't an Agnetha song.

...Middle of the Road had number one records in Sweden before ABBA had even settled on a name, and clearly (I would argue) influenced ABBA's early musical direction and style... My parents had the album with the cartoon cover, when ABBA was just a twinkle in Stikkan's eye! Sally Carr was one of my first loves, when I was about six years old! Indeed, it's funny how much they have in common, from hotpants and moustaches to word repetition tic. No wonder ABBA are mentioned in the second sentence of MOR's Wikipedia article. What's strange is that they're not talked about more often in the story of ABBA, since some pretty catchy tunes is another thing they share. But I suspect that they have been unfairly forgotten, to a large degree. Perhaps taking your name from a very low status music genre doesn't help...

Utan dig doesn't fit into this list as it was originally written and performed by Agnetha and later covered by Karin Glenmark.
