I consider this to be my rarest item - because I doubt very much that I could ever replace this item. This is an uncut sheet of the Australian Trading Cards. I know of other collectors who had this sheet in the early days - but chose to cut the sheet into individual cards !! The things young people did to their ABBA collectibles back in the 70's - what a heartbreak it is to them now ! I always had a strong attachment to the trading cards - I loved collecting them in the 70's - so I would have to say this uncut sheet is my most prized collectible Attachments:

Don't remind about these in my day I managed to get 4 sets of these cards before they were sent away to be cut and put into the bubblegum packs. What did I and my brothers do only if I could turn back time Maxisaxi

Benn kicking myself for not buying it ever since. Have never seen another one since.

These were available at all British Fun Fairs as a consolation prize from the sideshows that were available at the time. The paper is only 60 gram weight so the print quality is not as sharp as those large posters that we used to see in W. H. SMITHS or Woolworths way back in the 70s. However, most of these would have been thrown away by now, so I feel blessed to have had the chance to acquire one of these treasures.

I really like these paper posters - and I love the Arrival image. Kind of amusing thinking of an ABBA poster as a 'consolation' prize

Yes, you are right Roxanne. But they did have other themes as posters such as Starksy & Hutch, Boney M, Blondie and of course... The Muppets!!!

Nice rarities. Here are mine. Collector's item platinum display of Dancing Queen Epic. Demo mix vinyl. Original Abba songs are mixed on it. Limited edition cover songs from Spain. I like the cover of the LP.

Happy New Year "crispy vinyl" single from 2011 must be the rarest. Another one would be the original tour programme from 1979, which I got for free from a friend once (!!) and I guess the original bootleg CDs made by ABBAmail (Live At Last!, Live At Last! 2 and Memories that remain) are very hard to find these days too, even if they were easily available 10 years or so ago.

I will list 4 or 5 that are very precious to me and I guess are rare to some extent. The complete set of 3 12 inch coloured vinyl (red, blue, green) of “Voulez Vous/Does Your Mother Know”. The double ABBA the Interview U.S. radio promo lp (all white gate fold cover, no graphics) issued by WEA music. Chiquitita 45 on red vinyl from South America. “Happy New Year” on glitter vinyl. The ABBA neckless the girls wore early on in their career, which is on me...always. Too many others to mention at this time.

A topic I love: Rare vinyl. I'd love to know what the rarest item in everyone's vinyl collection is. If you feel that you have more than one, please share more! I'll start it off: I'd say the rarest ABBA/related vinyl I own is the South African pressing(s) of People Need Love (7") and The Day Before You Came (12"). I'm so proud to own these.

I think my rarest are Love Isn’t Easy and the reissue of Sang Till Gorel. I’ve also got three early Frida singles: Din, Simsalabim and Mycket Kar.

I suppose it would be TWTIA gatefold 12" although perhaps it's not that rare? I have a few Agnetha picture discs and the One of Us single. I think that's it.
Not very impressive, I know! Sorry. 😭

^^^very similar, TWTIA gatefold worth about £5 Hot Pink vinyl of Wrap Your Arms Around Me, not even out of the cellophane !! Again about £10.. at a push..🙄 I'm guessing, my She's My Kinda Girl on Polar, is worth a little something, bought it in a second hand shop for 10p many years ago.might have doubled its value by now 😂 I used to think it was worth collecting all sorts of foreign releases, but realised that many if not all would really only be worth what I paid for them...and realised I have for instance Fernando 10 times, with a slightly different pic....do I really need Fernando in so many formats....no... There seems to be very few Albums/singles that are worth very much.. The one that comes to mind is a coloured pressing of Voulez Vous album worth a few hundred pounds...which I haven't got.... but do have a red 12 inch Voulez Vous single... i realised that unless a devoted investment fan who collects everything, nothing will be worth more than a few hundred in my life time..so I gave up.... but each to their their own, there's many levels of fandom.....

I think the value of these items seems to fluctuate a bit? I have always coveted the UK picture disc of the Voulez-Vous album, but the prices quoted were sell-a-kidney ridiculous. Then, quite by accident, I found a copy on ebay a few years ago for £28.
I have started collecting vinyl pieces over the last few years. A lot of it very predictable: the coloured vinyl box sets and the related picture discs, the RSD sparkly blue 12" of VV/IIWFTN, the RSD reissue of Frida's first album, the coloured vinyl reissues of the six solo albums, the SGO box set.... I also have the Japanese picture disc of Slipping Through My Fingers, the white vinyl 12" of the Shine single and the 12" pop-up gatefold of TWTIA. They will most likely be worth buttons at this stage but I love them. There is something so attractive about these formats. They just seem so much more luxurious than the CD issues. That said, I absolutely love the digipack reissues of the studio albums from the early noughties. I'm a sucker for packaging and they were done really well.
I offloaded a ton of books a couple of months ago and I'm not sure (or bothered, really) whether I'll live to regret that. BTW, I still have a copy of John Tobler's Gold and Marianne Lindvall's The Ultimate Pop Group (sans poster), if anyone is missing a key piece from their collections (free to good homes).

Yes, I also got the UK Voulez-Vous album picture disc a few years ago. I paid £25.20 (which I think included postage).
I kept a list of things I bought at around the same time (2014)
Thank You For The Music pic disc £28 Voulez-Vous pic disc £25.20 The Singles pic discs £41 Waterloo 30th pic disc £19 The Heat Is On pic disc £24.99 Can't Shake Loose pic disc £29.55
I paid £150 for the blue vinyl UK 26 singles set (from 1984) back in 2008. Box itself not in great condition but the singles in it are well preserved.
Probably the item I’m most pleased with is the Japanese 30th anniversary CD box from 2004. I paid £135 for it in 2008. I had to have that one as it uses the original UK album artwork for the albums (the only time on CD for the blue The Album sleeve).

Jammy! That Japanese set is gorgeous.
It's amazing that there seems to be little between the price of albums and singles when it comes to vintage picture discs. That TYFTM shaped pic disc is lovely. Were you lucky enough to get one that hadn't discoloured? The Singles pic disc set is probably better value now than when it was released. That is a great price. I love my set and try not to open it too often. I had the Can't Shake Loose pic disc years ago but swapped it for something with a fan back in the 80s. I'd like the pic disc of The Heat Is On - I think it was Agnetha's best sleeve. She looks amazing on it. The art direction for that album campaign was great.
I bought the blue vinyl set when it was released and, despite being very gentle with it over the years, the box hasn't weathered especially well. I love the set, even if the sleeves feature pics from random eras.

It was a brown “coffee-stained” one unfortunately. I think they had to be stored in a certain way for them not to stain. I was on a bit of a collecting frenzy that year and bought pretty much every label variation of the Epic singles (yellow, orange, blue, white, Dutch, injection-moulded). Many singles came in multiple variants, usually with the same catalogue number.
Two I’m still after are I Have A Dream on orange (as released in Ireland - the only issue of this single on Epic’s orange label) and I Have A Dream on the Dutch Epic label variant (purple - pressed in Holland for the UK market). The latter is extremely rare. ABBAGav (remember him on the forums?) has one but I’ve never seen it anywhere else.

I haven't started collecting vinyls until recently and I more or less focus on picture discs, coloured vinyls and such... The rarest item in my collection must be the Happy New Year glitter vinyl released in 2011 (500 copies only). I also have the Vogue picture disc of Voulez-Vous or the Japanese Slipping Through My Fingers picture disc but these are not that rare I guess. By the way, we have a very similar thread here: abbachat.boards.net/thread/98/rarest-abba-collection-item How about merging them?
