I thought that you may be interested in this. (It proves that a CD 'Set' of ABBA's Albums does have a big 'Market' if the Price is only £12 to £15. Universal should realise, that it is better to sell 100,000 to 250,000, of such a 'Set', at a low price, than to sell 30,000 of them at a big price - say £30. You get a bigger Hit with the lower price. 'The Albums' was a No.89 Hit in the UK, (for 2 Weeks), back in 2008). 'THE ALBUMS' 9 CD BOX SET - LESS THAN HALF PRICE
Last Night I noticed that the 9 CD ABBA 'Set' - 'The Albums' - was less than half price, at Amazon.co.uk. It is £14.99. It is usually around £32.
This has now been noticed by many other people. (Although you can buy it now, they won't have it in stock again until 23rd April. But, they will raise the price again - soon. Which is why I've just ordered my 'Set').Many people have now bought it & it is currently, (6 pm - Sunday 1st April), No.16 in the Amazon Top 100 CD Chart. It has never been so high before. (By 7 pm it had risen from No.16 to No.12 in Amazon's CD Top 100). At this time - almost 6 pm on Sunday 1st April - it is the 2nd biggest 'Mover' on the Amazon CD Chart - up from No. 2597 to No.16 - a day on day rise in Sales of 16,131%. www.amazon.co.uk/Bestsellers-Music/zgbs/music#1www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/music/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsms

I've just noticed that HMV have also reduced the price of 'The Albums' 9 CD 'Set' to £14.99 - although they have now 'Sold Out' there. HMV usually charge over £30 for it too. Just like Amazon UK.
The Question is why have Amazon UK & HMV UK suddenly halved the price of 'The Albums'?
Is it to sell them all off - because they know that a bigger & better ABBA 'Set' will be released later in 2018? Designed to 'Cash-In' on the release of the 2nd 'Mamma Mia!' Film, in July?
An 'improved' ABBA Albums 'Set' would include a CD of their Spanish Language Tracks. A CD of all of their other 'Foreign' Language Tracks. A CD of 'Raritites' such as 'Put On Your White Sombrero', 'Dream World', the full version of 'Summer Night City' & many others. (I think that it is too much to ask, that Benny & Bjorn let us have a complete 'Just Like That', & 'Just A Notion').
We will see if there is an ABBA release in July. If not, it would be very surprising, that Universal made no effort to 'Cash-In', on 'Mamma Mia! 2', with an ABBA Compilation - other than relying on 'ABBA Gold' to sell again - as per usual...

Would like to think a new more relevant compilation would be made to ride on the success of Mamma Mia 2. Universal should also include a booklet giving details of the original studio albums to help boost their sales. All seems to be quiet on the song content from the film.

Amazon UK have now raised the price of'The Albums' Box Set to just over £22. So the Sale is over.
However, Amazon are asking £30.70 for the 2014 3 CD 'ABBA Gold', so £22.35 for the 9 CD 'The Albums' Box Set is still a bargain...

Amazon UK have now raised the price of 'The Albums' to its usual heights. It is now £31.95 - more than double the £14,99 that it was last night, & a lot more than the £22.35, that they were selling it for, this morning.

Graham - 'The Albums' Box Set will have sold 300 to 500 copies, during the few days that it was reduced to £14.99 at Amazon UK.
You need to sell about 800 copies to reach No.100 in the UK Album Chart. So, it did not - quite - sell enough.
I noticed that Amazon UK had raised its price to almost £35, a day or so ago.
'The Album's Box Set had sold 65,700, in the UK, by W/E 1st October 2015.
It is likely to be on 68,000+ UK Sales by now. Perhaps even 70,000...
It reached No,89 - for 2 Weeks - in the UK, but it has carried on selling steadily, since then. Its 2 No.89 Positions were in December 2008.
It Charted best in Scandinavia:
Sweden - No.4 Norway - No.7 Denmark - No.10 Finland - No.11
(Note - I'm aware that many people do not regard Finland as being in Scandinavia).

Nice to think of all of those people experiencing ABBA's albums for the first time (and not simply buying Gold like most people do).
