I would like to kick off with the climax of He Is Your Brother, live in 1977. I like the way Agnetha belts out a really solid and committed E5, then comfortably takes it up another tone, as if to say 'there's more where that came from':
That's quite some kick off, shoshin. 2.52 - 3.06. 14 seconds well spent of anybody's life, I'd say. Thanks!

I have searched everywhere for official promo posters for ABBA Live At Wembley and it does not seem that they bothered to make any ! I am very disappointed about this - so decided to make my own poster What do you think ? Nice to see you have a good eye for the boys, Roxy!

The picture on the top row (left) is the cover of the Live album taken from a different angle. It looks like it to me anyway. What does everybody else think ? I’m pretty sure you’re right, Julian. This one’s probably from the moment just before or after.

Oh, for the perils of a new ABBA fan, who never visited another ABBA forum. I’ve just learned there are great experts of this topic, so as the thread starter here, I’ll allow a widening of the concept of high notes like that of video moments and such – all highs really. This one's for shoshin.

I think I got this ”Early Photos Thread” a bit wrong with my contribution, so I deleted it in order not to spoil the thread, which is very nice. Honest mistake though, I’d say. I mean what’s early in the long life of an old gal? Anyway, here’s a more fitting picture, I hope.
Edit: This photo may help to pinpoint the time. Benny got his beard early on, so Frida must still be in her teens here, I think.

Great collage of picture Poul - are they from the LP inside cover ? Can't wait to receive my vinyl ! I agree, a fantastic band apart from the girls - such a professional production Thanks Roxy. I like to make postcards as keepsakes for my own log of what I read and listen to. In this case, I searched for black and white photographs from the 79 ABBA tour on the net and got about ten hits. I picked five of them for the card. They were the ones that I thought best conveyed the amazingly positive energy of those ABBA gigs.

Really enjoyed listening to ABBA in concert. It was a good idea to let the son make the hard choices, I'd say. There probably were some of those. Very crisp & clean sound - the girls are awesome, of course, but what a great band, too! They play as well live as any of the best, that I know of. Such good times!

Not showing favourites here, but here is Helen Sjöholm singing 'You Have To Be There' ... Benny and Björn held auditions to find local Kristinas for the London and New York productions of the musical, but ended up calling Helen, so I think they’d be with you on that, Roxy. Not before they took it to Finland, did they find another Kristina – Maria Ylipää. She polished her Swedish for the show and did an excellent version of “You Have To Be There”. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CfjxZ9JQjQ) So, for this thread, perhaps you could say that Helen and Maria are the post ABBA girls.

I'm not up on their non abba stuff can someone give me a quick run down of the best English tracks? R Then there’s “You Have To Be There”.
It’s in lots of versions. Susan Boyle sold millions of it. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_In06u1jRt0) Please note, we would not want to argue with Subo fans about which is the best version.
We’re talking mostly American 60+ women with a vengeance, and it’s really not so bad.

Here is one video of Helen sining 'You Are My Man' in English - from Hamstead Heath, London 4 July 2009. Roxy Australia Thanks for your help, Roxy. Here's a lovely Swedish version from the "People's Park" traditional get-together/sing-together. Benny always liked to play those gigs, and this song is perfect for it, I think. Would you mind putting it up as well? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU5wo2lq_xg) Cheers Poul

I'm not up on their non abba stuff can someone give me a quick run down of the best English tracks? R Benny Andersson's Orchestra recently achieved a new record in Sweden by staying on the Swedish chart for 243 weeks with the song "Du är min man" ("You Are My Man"), sung by Helen Sjöholm. I think she did an English version as well. Maybe someone can post a link?

I also wish there was a DVD Kevin - I guess us fans are never satisfied Roxy Australia Hello Roxy. I’ve always liked hardworking girls so I wish you the very best of luck with the new forum project. It's not a DVD in the least, but here’s a header from a Danish ABBA Live at Wembley Arena promo blog that I bet you don’t know. (http://abbalivesite.blogspot.dk/) As a happy reader of your blog, I’m pretty sure you’ll like the pic of Agnetha’s white boots. It’s a nice change, I’d say, from the compulsive interest in the shape of her proverbial white you-know-what. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if you had a similar pair yourself – of boots, I mean. Cheers from Denmark!

Hello everybody! I'm from Denmark and a fan of ABBA since yesterday. Never knew nothing about their music except the GOLD collection. I just got the great box set with all the albums and have really enjoyed listening to them for the first time (and the second, and third and so on). Now, I'm looking forward to the live album. I hope to get a few pointers from old fans as to what to buy next. I'm sorry my English is not very good, but I'm pretty sure it's better than your Danish! Cheers Poul
