I have read nothing but positive, glowing reports about the show. Even convincing some sceptics. It is very pleasing. The video clip of SOS looks great as does the set list which can be tweaked for future shows. The set list can be seen here www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-61592104.ampThis will all no doubt help ticket sales but by how much is anyone's guess. This concert in which all four attended is very likely to be the last new thing ABBA do together. Fantastic to go out on a high. It seems inevitable there will be a dvd or digital version at some stage.

Wonderful, positive reviews. ABBA and the technical team involved in this Voyage show have obviously achieved something marvelous. I just hope that future developments of the technology will allow the setlist to include some other, less well-known, songs to be introduced as time goes on, as a variation from the big hits. I think such a thing would prolong and widen the appeal of such a show for fans and the curious, well into the future. But can this be achieved without the motion capture of the ABBA members? Somehow, sometime in the future, perhaps it can. But in the meantime, it's already looking to be a great success.

Somebody else has described the concert very well in the meantime already, so just a few more thoughts from me:
Some people were wondering why The Winner Takes It All was chosen as a finale. Actually it probably has a purpose as there are new lyrics added to the end of the song, sung by a choir, that appears on some kind of a dais above the whole stage during the final part of the song. However, I was not able to make out what exactly they sing.
When All Is Said Done is indeed one of the highlights.
The show was a bit too loud I think (am I getting old?), to the point, where the voices of Agnetha and Frida were not recognizable for me anymore. So at places I'd say I wouldn't even be able to tell if the songs were sung by two other singers during the loudest parts.
I could live without the animated sequences too but again, they serve a purpose and tell a story. However, I would definitely prefer seeing the Avatars instead.
My third objection (but who am I to object at all?) is that during two songs (the first was Don't Shut Me Down) a semi-transparent screen slided in front of the stage, on which the giant images of ABBAtars were projected. It looked great but it made the "real" ABBAtars behind it look blurred like they were shown on a broken TV-screen. Actually, during the first night I thought there was a bug and they would have to stop the show and fix it.
Otherwise it was spectacular and after seeing it twice I wouldn't say no to going again.

I've seen concert segments, but I don't like it because it's not what hasn't been here yet.
Clothes, appearance, songs.
My idea of an interesting new concert Avatar is as follows.
1.Appearance of Abba from 1983. (where they ended, they follow)
2. Songs that have not yet been performed on a TV performance or concert in 1979.
3.Songs by Benny and Bjorn now sung by Agnetha and Frida, sung by other singers (Gemini, Elaine-Paige - & - Barbara-Dickson, The Rivals -) after 1982.
4. Medley demo recordings or some finished songs straight away, for example Just like that (sax version)

from what I saw and IMO, this concert looks like a "showcase" of everything this technology has to offer, showing its potentials to other artists.
And ABBA is perfect to start of what is coming in the near futur.

Do I want more, of course, it’s like eating cake..lol
Realistically, I’m ok with it all being the last hurrah, could we really have imagined this in the dark days of the 1990s, no, but here we are with a story that keeps on giving for many years to come. I guess it’s frustrating for us fans, one is saying something different to the other, you would think they would’ve got their stories the same, it’s not as if that question was never going to be asked !! So we wait and see what happens, I’m guessing if nothing does by the 50th...it won’t. We’ll get a possible documentary, a possible deluxe Voyage, a possibility of a couple more tracks a DVD, CMP s book, and of course a variation on a theme of compilation albums, so we’re not doing badly are we ?
Just can’t wait for Monday night... nothing like wishing your life away....

Does anyone think there are any other artists this could work for? There's just something so unique, enchanting and endearing about ABBA that I can't really see anyone else pulling it off!

I feel the same, l like lots of different genres of Music. But l think this unique, l definitely would not want to see Artists who are already dead, and all the other artists l would pay to see are still Touring

I have been waiting and thinking of what I wanted to say about the show on the 26th. First word is WOW. I had all ideas in my head of how it was going to sound and look. the whole show is so polished you can see the work that went on putting this together. From the first song to the last it was eye candy. Your eyes were going to blow up as there was so much to take in. The live band to one side and then abba on the other you could not tell which one was real they were that good. The clothes out of the world. The set list, on 2 September I made a list just under haft were played so that was cool. Over all I had a wonderful night.

I see people are selling their opening night badges on eBay. What a shame people lucky enough to go on the first night aren't big enough fans to keep this bit of history! It’s not actually just for the opening night. They were handing them out on the way out of the arena yesterday, so I got one. If they were intended for the opening night only then they obviously had plenty left over. Certainly not planning to sell ours. Curiously, I can’t see the mug on eBay yet (not the vintage enamel one but the one with various ABBA logos used over the years). That one disappeared from the online store so I was expecting it to be sold out, but plenty of them at the venue so I got one. I wonder if they have had them removed from eBay? Here is what I got. Yes, I’ve reached an age where I find socks interesting! Plus it’s a nice box, but not big enough for my Voyage CD collection unfortunately.

Ok, I was lucky to go to Voyage on Monday evening with a very good friend of mine, both of us have been fans for so long, he was lucky to see the 79 concert and in his opinion this is far superior.... I had started this review on the train yesterday on the way home and was just about to post and went through tunnel and lost the lot ..lol It has enabled me to ponder more..... I’m not going to say much about the set list, as it’s impossible to please everyone, and if you sit thinking ifs buts and maybes, it would spoil the experience, take it for what it is.... Initially, a small issue that may get changed over time, the queues to actually enter are open to the elements so a cold wet January isn’t going to be much fun, Once inside, all covered , again in January could be cold, that said all is there that you.d expect from a concert. The shop is slightly disappointing, it’s small and missed opportunity in not selling Voyage or Gold or any album for that matter, unless as being a bit of a dinosaur CDs etc are no longer the way to go.. but hey a missed opportunity Otherwise usual merchandise that we al know about , some reasonable others expensive, but each to their own. Beer/ Drinks and Food are London prices , so no great surprise , your choice ..... The arena is amazing , especially as a temporary structure, it appears to hold more than 3000 when it’s full especially the standing area which looks like 3000 in its self... Seating is good ( I had Row E,block H) couldnt ask for better. The Show...most has been already said, but personally ..amazing... I may be naive in shows but the lighting is incredible all the way through, it could invoke jaw dropping moments..lol. Like I said I’m not going to dissect each track, obviously some are better than others , but you get carried along. Personally again best section is the so called Tron , just brilliant and very crowd pleasing.. especially GGG a crowd pleaser and great Sing a long... At this point I was very happy to note that if seated, everyone stayed seated bopping along until the end of course.. so great to watch , so many stand the minute a show starts, why not just go to the standing area ? Missed opportunity for Eagle and Voulez Vous, nothing much wrong with the animation clip , but let’s be honest we were there for the Abbatars.. dare I say a good point to get a drink or go toilet.. but you really don’t wish to miss a thing. The final 3 tracks, just wrong order, I guess you should end with your biggest hit DQ and it would have been an out of this world finale ... or even dare I say Thankyou for the Music.. but hey small preferences and all personal.... As we know when they come on at the end, it is very emotional even though you know... Would I go again, yes , when they hopefully change the set list, which I think they will.
One word ... Wonderfull , a memory for a life time...

I was not even aware there were any badges handed out until I read about them here. Strange...

^^^ nearly walked past the lady giving out badges, at the door leaving auditorium... she had a few hundred I guess, they won’t last long Regarding demographics, I felt it was a mixture leaning to the more mature, that said all the more ardent fans are of a certain age, as time goes by I guess it will get younger, as perceived as a good night out...and word of mouth.... Sorry to say this , if you do go and sit there wishing for TACOM or ST, your wasting a good night..enjoy the now , tomorrow is another day...

Wouldn't it be amusing (or perhaps infuriating) if you went to see Voyage, and every song used was one sung by Bjorn! So, you'd get Does Your Mother, Two for the Price, and a load of (mainly) rubbish off the earlier albums. Wonder if there are enough Bjorn-leads to fill a set? Guessing perhaps something like 15? And I think Benny also has a lead vocal but possibly only on one song. It would be a night for the super-fans!

I too went mad at the webshop and bought the socks but they have not arrived yet.
Now hear is the unexpected bit...
I emailed to ask if they would be doing a restock of the items that have now sold out. Their response was... "It is not definate, but keep checking the website."
So the show is due to run for three years and yet they not stocking up the shop. They could have made a lot more money and sold more copies of Voyage.

So the show is due to run for three years and yet they not stocking up the shop. They could have made a lot more money and sold more copies of Voyage. I succumbed to an eBay flipper regarding the red vinyl of Voyage. £55 with free postage. Issue price was £35 but probably about £3 postage on top. It was an offer and at the time I couldn’t see any that had gone for lower. I’m not checking eBay again for them. If it comes back up on the official store, I might get another and similarly flip it, so I can make some of the money back!
