Why are they even bothering with these lyric videos. Are they under the fond delusion that it's something fresh and interesting for those who won't be going to the Voyage show, or a nice little bonus for those who do?

Seems to be quiet with the releases of those Lyric Videos, they must of used up all their box of crayons, in the graphics department! Probably just as well. Two Songs that would of made sense to promote, would be 'People Need Love' and 'Angeleyes' both were Singles. PNL being 50, and AE having a resurgence on various platforms. But have no presence currently on Abba's Official YouTube list. AE has just passed the 100 million mark on Spotify. Here's how those Lyric Videos have performed so far, on Abba's Official YouTube Page Not counting The Voyage Lyric Videos. The best performer is: 1st. Chiquita 6+ million views, will over take 'Under Attack' tomorrow, rising to (34) on the overall List. 2nd 'Voulez Vous 2 Million Views. (46) 3. 'Lay all your love on me 1.6m (48) 4. 'Dancing Queen 700,000 (52) * The original Video being No.1 on the list, and currently with 636,000,000 views avg, 300,000 daily. 5. "Waterloo 500,000+ (53) 6. 'SOS. 500,000+. (54) 7. 'The Winner takes it all 400,000+ (55) 8. 'Thank you for the Music 177,000 (56) Edit, Of the 8 lyric Video's released, this is how they compare with their Current Chart position with their counter part, The *Original Video. 1 DQ *1 2 Chiquita *4 3 TWTIA *7 4 SOS *12 5 Waterloo *13 6 VV *14 7 TYFTM *16 8, ? I was quite happy with Chiquitita and Voulez Vous but subsequently it went downhill from there on...
Also,if there is any release strategy, it seems very odd.
With Voyage promoting songs like The Visitors, When All Is Said And Done, Hole In Your Sole and increasing streams for those songs on Spotify, not releasing songs from the setlist is a missed chance.
I don't understand the taste of the younger fans, I find this trend to speed up the songs to sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks awkward and this "Fridnetha" thing quite disturbing.

It's a slight improvement on recent efforts, I suppose. At least the flowers seem to hark back to the embroidery on the girls' dresses. With so little action in the original video, they didn't exactly ruin much.

I actually don't mind this new one too much. Once again, the plainness/simplicity of the original video means that nothing much was wrecked. I presume they'll continue to work on the biggest hits from the Voyage setlist before going on to the slightly deeper cuts.

I read they were only doing lyric videos for 20 songs. The Gold tracks and Happy New Year. Edited GGG without that bridge is better. |

I actually really like that. The theme has been handled well. Happy but slightly surprised that this one got the lyric video treatment so early. I somehow imagined they'd focus on the Voyage setlist first. A 4K rendition of the original video would be a nice addition to the main list.

I haven't seen all of them. Waterloo and Money Money were quite good.
I also think ABBA's PR have oversold the idea of the lyric videos and LAYLOM wasn't good at all.

No prizes for Happy New Year lyric video. At least they use British English in the lyrics -"neighbour"

I really enjoyed the lyric video for Take A Chance On Me and will watch it again. Very retro. 1970s style "wallpaper" effect?! It works very well anyway. Cool as.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the new lyric video for Super Trouper. Opinions? I wasn't massively impressed, it has to be said. Not sure they could have done much else though. I'm either losing the plot or they haven't given the actual video the HD treatment. What's the point of that? To keep it retro? Anyway, I will spontaneously combust if this song is put into ABBA VOYAGE. And if it doesn't, I'll be fuming. Although I'll probably go again at some point anyway.

I just watched "Super Trouper" and thought it was okay - not in the same league as the lyric video for "Take A Chance On Me", which was a definite highlight so far.
I thought I could notice an improvement in the footage, particularly during Frida's solo moments but whether it qualifies as 'HD' or not, I'm not sure. I may have imagined this, but it seems as though Frida has been given the 'green screen' treatment, which comes off as slightly odd, especially the silhouette of her hair.
Joseph, I sincerely hope you don't spontaneously combust if "Super Trouper" isn't included the next time you attend the 'Voyage' show but I agree with you, it should be added (along with "Take A Chance On Me").
I wonder if it's just coincidence that these are the latest two lyric videos or is something being telegraphed?

Oops I forgot there was a lyric video thread. That's the trouble sometimes- everyone tends to just plonk their thoughts in the one general thread. I must try harder to find the appropriate threads. There's so many of them though.
I'm not sure about Super Trouper being bookmarked for inclusion in Voyage but I do hope so. I'm trying not to be too picky and entitled.
